“I was here for the re-opening in November 2014, and I returned as soon as I could make it back to Charlotte. I love this site. Inside, there’s a circular museum setup with a small theater in the middle. Really cool design. There’s a small gift shop area in the lobby. Outside they do hourly tours as weather permits, with two log cabin houses set up nicely to depict how they would be in the time period of Polk’s childhood.”

“This park was deserted when we got there, but I felt perfectly safe. The grounds were immaculate, not a piece of trash, not even in the small creek. My 8year old LOVED the playground, had a blast! We will be back when it is warmer with scooters or bikes, the paths surrounded the baseball fields and looked smooth and flawless.”

“We've been frequenting Pinveill Lake Park since we moved here in 2006. It's a great park near downtown Pineville that includes a walking trail around a small lake, playground, amphitheater, and rec center. If you haven't been there before you owe it to yourself to check out one of the parks many special programs including Food Truck Fridays, Fall Festival, and the Annual Christmas Tree lighting. the park is well maintained, and Pineville Park and Recreation Director has made sure to keep the facility up to date and relevant with programming and new features. In recent years the park has expanded the playground, renovated the walking trails, added a dog park, and now a spray ground is under construction and due to be opened in the near future!”
