(December 30, 2021, 6:57 pm)A few minutes off Capitol, Durant Nature Preserve offers multiple well kept, relaxing trails that circle around the lake. Very pretty all year round with many opportunities to see a variety of wildlife up close. A great place to walk the trails, picnic, and see beautiful vegetation. Definitely recommend.
(November 18, 2021, 12:36 pm)Love this place. Not too crowded. Very scenic. Great feeling of being immersed in nature even though you're very close to capitol Boulevard and falls of Neuse. Great escape from the noise and pollution. Great place to observe fireflies in the summer. Dogs love it too. They offer nature programs as well.
(November 8, 2021, 1:08 pm)This is a great little off the beaten path nature preserve. Nice place to cycle, walk and just observe the beautiful NC scenery. I go here often to eat lunch because it is peaceful and quite!! Great little mid-day break!!! Thanks Wake County for this little slice of paradise!
