The congregations history goes back to "a Quaker meeting held in 1672 by William Edmundson in what is now Hertford, approximately twelve miles from Up River." It is refreshing to find a church who actually believe in what they are teaching. To many churches say they preach the word of God but instead include their own personal philosophy and ideology. The minister is a kind, caring, compassionate and articulate person who knows God word. The congregation is diverse and the people are always there ready to welcome a new individual. They are are also ready to help each other to the best of their ability when there is someone in need. I cannot say enough positives about this church and the individuals that make up the congregation. One other note I would like to make that is important to both my wife and I. That is this church is independent from the other Baptists organizations and is locally controlled. There is no outside influence from so many misguided Baptists organizations that exists today.”
