“Loved it! Tickets $12 adult, self-guided, 3 floors of a beautiful Victorian house. First 2 floors are the living quarters and 3rd floor is a live theatre. Couldn't stand up straight in some of the rooms as I was too tall, must have been shorter back then, but the house was awesome! Recommend.”

“This is one of the neatest walking tours I've been on. It's free too! Constructed with a lot of time and effort and money, this park and museum gives history lessons on the Revolutionary War ( how America separated from Britain ). It's a great walking trail and they've put together a phone app that gives details at each memorial site.”

“Great place to hold social gatherings. Graduations or quinces. Has a kitchen with a generous amount of space. The place isn't that bad. Only took pictures in the dark so not good enough for seeing the venue correctly.”

“Had such a lovely time visiting today! My sister recently moved into the area and we decided to do a little exploring…this place is super interesting, the people running the museum are so friendly and knowledgeable…had lots of little stories and interesting facts to share with us! They also change out displays, so you’ll always get to see something new! Plus, many local families bring in things they find or have put away to share and put on display, making this a very hands on community experience as well…we will be back for sure!”

“The museum staff is knowledgeable and very courteous. After a few moments inside, you feel as though you have stepped back in time. The Jim Biggers exhibit in December was inspirational. It was a must see event. The gift shop sells quite a few unique items.”

“What a great addition to the other museums in the area that interpret the local area. I learned so much about some of the local boat makers and was able to see some of their work. They have some benches around the small museum, however, I it would be more helpful to have them at the stations where they have videos. As someone with limited mobility and walk with a walker, it was a challenge to make it around the museum.”

“Had a wonderful time visiting the center. It would have been better on a cooler day or maybe earlier in the morning. The kids did not enjoy the zoo part in the heat and the animals were smart staying inside. Was impressed with the amount of butterflies they had. Lots of play areas for kids to enjoy. The aquarium section had a good variety of fish and other animals to see. The dinosaur area was okay but wasn't a highlight. Pretty basic. Bonus we got to see the baby red panda they had in the hospital building. It was so adorable.”

“Hillsborough is a nice little town not far from Chapel Hill. Lot of history here. Unfortunately there's not much in terms of specialty shops, and its mostly restaurants, with a few that were closed, for what seemed like quite some time. Otherwise the downtown area is small, but clean, with a lot of greenary mixed in which is great on hot days, and there are nice older southern homes, each unique in their own way, making for pleasant walk on the side streets.”

“Oh no... they close at 5 and I arrived @ 5:30 🙄. Since I still have a couple hours to drive to get to my destination, I drove around for a little bit and located Stop 1 Confederate High Tide. The Battlefield is very clean and spacious. It has informative historic markers and signs. If you have time, I highly recommend doing the entire driving tour.”

“The perfect place to learn about the History of Caswell County, NC. It is housed in the Gatewood Home (John Yancey Gatewood and wife, Mary Lea Florance). The artist Maud Gatewood was born in this house. There is a gallery of her artwork and personal effects. There are several exhibits, including the local military history as well as some Thomas Day Furniture. A genealogy research room provides histories written by family members. A great place to spend the afternoon. Tours are also given of the Historical Courthouse, circa 1861, the 1905 jail, and a one room school house.”

“This is a wonderful place to visit! It’s best to take the very inexpensive tour. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and we learned a great deal about the school and cultural history during the early-mid 1900’s. The awesome opportunities offered and started by Charlotte Hawkins Brown would be very useful in our culture today for both white and black people. Don’t miss out on such an awesome experience!”

“My family & I had a great visit today at the Railway...Will definitely be back soon!!! Will also be recommending a visit here to all of our friends & family...Very nice and scenic train ride for all ages to enjoy...price for tickets are very reasonable...lots of old trains and old train memorabilia to walk around and look at...even the prices in the gift shop were reasonable!!! Very impressed that every person that makes this place run are volunteers...all volunteers we interacted with today were so friendly😊 The only downfall of the day was the price of food from the foodtruck...and there was only one vendor with a food truck to choose from, but there is plenty of tables if you wanna bring a packed lunch or dinner.”

“OH MY GOSH!!! This shop is amazing! I don't even have kids, and I wanted to buy stuff for every niece, nephew, neighbor, or friends' child! They had THE absolute cutest baby/children's clothing that is boutique unique without being pretentious. 🥰 The staff even help you put together super adorable outfits (with accessories if you want! Ahh, tiny sunglasses kill me with cuteness)! They also have fun games and gifts for kiddos. ANNNND they have excellent play and craft areas that can be reserved for parties and events! If you have little ones in your life, you HAVE to come visit here!”

“Great little museum. Yes it's kind of small, but it is absolutely loaded with all kinds of relics from the war and has so much dedicated to the people from North Carolina. If you're from here, you should definitely go, if you're not, you should do the same. There is a little Cessna that the kids can climb in and work the controls, which every kid will love. Friendly staff and along the side of the airport so if it's a pretty day, even more action is right there.”
