“11-13-22 I've come to this zoo quite a bit over a 25-ish year period and the lions are either a fantastic exhibit or a complete letdown. They vary in numbers and activity level. They are more often than not lounging and definitely not on our schedule. But when they are up and moving, this is my favorite exhibit in the zoo. Africa side (obviously) with two viewing areas. Best times to see these cats is feeding time. They really are majestic and powerful creatures. Would recommend bringing binoculars if you them.”

“We originally met Tracy with Barefoot Creek at our Sanford Farmers market back in 2020..I am OBSESSED with Sarah's goat milk soaps! Having kids with sensitive skin is grueling but her soaps always calm any irritation they have and keep our skin feeling clean but super soft! The farm is literally a dream! From the amazing goats, pigs, horses, chickens to the dogs they are all incredibly friendly and loving. My three girls had the best time. The owners are truly amazing, kind, hardworking folks and you can tell by having any sort of conversation with them they have the biggest hearts and love what they do! I can't wait to visit again and have the petting zoo out for a party! Can't wait til Saturday to re supply my soap addiction!!”

“Great time and memories for the entire family. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip. The animals were all so friendly and came right up to us. We spent several hours there. Highlights were the drive through safari and feeding Jeffrey the giraffe. My kids got to touch and interact with so many animals and jeffrey was such a good sport even enjoyed the scratches from the kids. The price was well worth it and buying the feed was to. We visited the gift shop which was very clean and well stocked with reasonably priced goodies. The restroom was very clean as well. Will be going back soon.”

“Had a wonderful time visiting the center. It would have been better on a cooler day or maybe earlier in the morning. The kids did not enjoy the zoo part in the heat and the animals were smart staying inside. Was impressed with the amount of butterflies they had. Lots of play areas for kids to enjoy. The aquarium section had a good variety of fish and other animals to see. The dinosaur area was okay but wasn't a highlight. Pretty basic. Bonus we got to see the baby red panda they had in the hospital building. It was so adorable.”

“This animal sanctuary is a true labour of love. I am in awe at the small staff yet how well the animals are cared for. Every exquisite animal (carnivores excluded) had their own carefully cut fresh produce. It must have taken hours just to prepare their breakfast. The water bowls were clean even the ones outside and the pens were free of odors. The animal themselves had such wonderful personalities. From the pig that followed me around trying to squeeze in tight spaces, the tortoises that came to visit me and my favorite the monkey who played peek a boo. (Yes really) The cats and kittens (available for adoption) including a beautiful orange kitten who was the most affectionate cat I have ever met. He would make a wonderful cat especially for someone who needs company. There are python snakes, sloths geckos, an alligator, a camel, horses goats. As you walk to the back of the property it gets more exciting. I could have spent 4 hours here just enjoying the animals though it was very cold today. It’s worth a trip and consider a donation if you can. The sanctuary is definitely a place worth investing in.”

“This is a great intimate experience. Farmer Mary was welcoming as well as her daughter. Read her site BEFORE going… it will answer a lot of questions beforehand. My son had a wonderful time he is just turning 2 and we will be back for sure! … Thank you Mary”

“This place was a pleasant surprise. As a person who deeply cares about animal rights and welfare, I always get a bit on my guard when I see facilities with wild animals, mainly because I know some places don't properly care for these animals as they should. With Animal Park at the Conservators Center, that is far from the case. The staff and volunteers evidently care very deeply for the animals in their care and take interacting with them seriously and with the proper amount of awareness and caution. Even though it's never easy to see wild animals in penned areas, unfortunately with climate change and humans overusing natural resources and exploiting these animals, a lot of wild animals get displaced. This makes me grateful places like the Animal Park exist to provide them a home. The animals have a pretty fair amount of space and are given enrichment and company as appropriate. With the park serving to educate the public, the volunteers and staff are open about how they operate and care for the animals and how the animals came into their care; so feel free to ask questions during the tour. It's worth the time and money. Plus, the animals are breathtaking and a reminder that we need to protect our planet at all costs to save these animals from extinction. They deserve to share this Earth with us, and this Earth wouldn't be as beautiful without them.”

“Moved to the area recently and found this place in a quick search. Decided to give them a ring to see if we could stop in and Sue, one of the owners, let us know to come on over. Sue and Russ were EXTREMELY kind and down to earth. We stayed for a while and had some great conversations and they were so welcoming. We got to hold some of the baby goats and Russ gave us some awesome insight into caring for their amazing animals. You can tell they are lovely people that enjoy everything about what they do. Couldn't recommend this place more!”

“CTR is a full-fledged sanctuary for so many beautiful big cats! They take such wonderful care of these animals. The staff and volunteers are so dedicated and welcoming to visitors. We had an amazing time learning about the stories that came behind the animals. A wonderful trip out for a half-day!”

“Perfect place for an anniversary! Kathy does a great job all around - from organizing the visit (and working with me through scheduling changes due to the tropical storm) to providing a fun and interactive tour with the alpaca and other animals. She knows the tendencies of each of the alpaca so that you can get the most interaction with each one. She also doesn't overbook to ensure she focuses on your tour. We had a great time and highly recommend it. If you can't make it down, they'll come to you as well. I can't rate on this service but I'm sure it's a quality experience as well.”

“My mom and I took my 3 year old here and she LOVED it!!! You can tell all of the animals/reptiles were very well taken care of. Their enclosures were so awesome and you can tell that the owners and staff really love what they do. Justin gave us a tour today and he was the best! Incredibly knowledgeable and very sweet. He took out a gecko for my daughter to hold and it made her day. Definitely will be coming back. If you're looking for something fun to do with the family I highly recommend.”

“Woodland park zoo is great, however they should be ashamed of the restaurant food quality and selection. Bring your own food.”

“I was sad that I didn't get a picture of the bobcat before he went into his cave, but he was gorgeous. And we got to see the red-shouldered hawk close up because his handler was taking him for a walk. And we were able to get stories of some of the critters from the lady while she was feeding and cleaning. You can tell they love the animals and put their hearts into the work.”

“Hannah at Pee Dee Pet Services did a wonderful job caring for our many many pets. They are all different species and sizes and temperaments, and none of that seemed to bother her at all. She even went above and beyond to figure out some issues when I couldn't be reached. From the moment I met Hannah I felt completely comfortable entrusting all our babies to her care. I would recommend her to anyone!”

“Great place. I got to see almost all of the animals. Only a couple were hidden in their private areas. I got to see some peacocks courting just running around the whole park. The info on each animal is good as well. Definitely coming back here. It's best to come when it's cool, so morning or if it's cloudy.”

“Okay so this place had some very bad reviews and I feel that they are not fair. It was a very fun outing for my toddler. They had goats, foxes, zebras, camels, donkeys, several cute dogs... a good selection of birds and some other animals I can’t remember... it was definitely worth the money that we paid. The pony ride was great, my son really enjoyed it. Fair warning, the tour guide warns you that the camel is a food thief! I was not smart enough to listen and he stole my bucket of feed. So watch out for that hungry camel, but do go enjoy a tour. It’s worth the time.”
