“Best Mexican street food I've ever had. Extensive menu. Highlights: * Chicken tacos: the juiciest shredded chicken you've ever had. Great with the salsa Verde and squeeze of lime * Tacos de tripa: dank, barnyardy, chewy tripa, sweetened with a bit of caramelized onion, brightened by a squeeze of lime and sprinkle of cilantro. The salsa picante adds a lovely kick with fruity taste. * Burrito de lengua: room temp burrito stuffed with unctuous lengua, shredded lettuce, sour cream, tomato, refried beans. Really one of the best burritos you'll ever have * Chimichanga de campechano: a warm, spiced, fried burrito of cesina, sausage, and chicharron. Fabulous with sour cream and the salsa picante. * Huarache de asada: crunchy fried tortilla boat filled with carne asada, lettuce, tomato, refried beans, crema, and sharp cheese. Fabulous. * Gorditas: the gorditas are fine but are better at Taqueria El Bajio. * Tacos de cabeza: unctuous, meltingly tender meat from the cows head. Pair with the salsa roja. * Al pastor is good, has a slight piña hint but better at Doña Lilia where they use chunks of pineapple * Chicharron is fine but best at City Bus. * Torta cubana is good and it's huge. Practically 2 meals. * Torta de milanesa is like a BLT but with chicken fried steak instead of bacon. And it has avocado. Amazing and you don't see this at other Mexican trucks. Vegetarian options are limited but the veg burrito is good. Vegan options extremely limited.”

“I tried here after having a hankering for Chinese food. I ordered the rib tips, chicken fried rice, egg roll, and the fried chicken plate with broccoli on the side. I also got an order of white rice and an order of wonton egg drop soup. I tried the wonton egg drop soup, and it was too thick and lacked flavor. I then tried the rib tips, and they were decent but nothing to write home about. The egg roll was fresh and hot, so that was pretty good. The fried chicken was good also. I would try here again but not get the soup or rib tips, maybe try their other selections.”

“On my day off, I pointed my Tahoe south, and just drove. I eventually wound up in Troy, NC at lunch time. A Yelp search found Martha’s Grill in nearby Star, NC It has a 4 star rating, but the data set is REALLY small with only 5 previous reviews. Looked kind of divey, though, so I headed that way. Definitely a divey place that is well stocked with locals. VERY reminiscent of Tucker’s Grill in Horneytown. I ordered the giant cheeseburger, a hot dog all the way, and fries. The cheeseburger was a 3.5 star effort, with a nice char on the outside and a good flavor. That it was cooked slightly too long is my only gripe. The hot dog was excellent: 4+ stars. As I mentioned in my review of The Dugout, the wiener makes a huge difference in the hot dog experience, and the one Marth’s uses has a really good flavor. I was shocked to learn that it was just a food service hot dog—but it was really a good tasting dog. The chili was good but a little mild, and the slaw was tasty and not too dry and not too wet. The things that push this to 4 stars are the quality of the hot dog and its price: $1.55 for a very good hot dog is very hard to beat. Furthermore, the staff is very friendly. One concern I had was the 90.0 sanitation grade. It is three days later and I’m still alive, but this needs to be fixed. The area is beautiful—at the foot of the ancient Uwharrie Mountains. You can definitely enjoy a lovely drive in the country in this area, have a good lunch, and rub elbows with some locals.”

“We love finding new, smaller diners to eat at. Our travels took us through Siler City, NC a week ago where we had the pleasure of finding the Crossroads Grill. They serve classic diner food - burgers, fries, dogs, etc. Their burgers were awesome, my wife's BLT was amazing - but the onion rings were incredible. Service at the window, where one orders your food,, was very friendly. We had a great conversation with the lady at the window (if she reads this, we're the people from Minnesota!) who took great care of us. Their drive-thru is very popular but to use it was best dining at a picnic table in the tent. It gives you a sense of dining inside along with a feel of eating outside at the same time. It's better than a car anytime. If you're like us, people who travel a lot and use Google Maps to find those fun and interesting places to eat, Crossroads Grill is your next must-stop diner. You won't be sorry, we promise.”
