Update 11/7/22
Red band. Do it. Trust me. I participated in the challenge and it did not disappoint! The photos do no justice to the damage done! I swear it was the time of my life. I can't wait for next year. And as always. More blood more blood! 😀
Super fun experience, a bit underwhelming even for those who had the yellow and red bands to experience getting covered in who knows what as well as be pulled away from the group and put in predicaments unbeknownst to man. A lot of cool little shops, not all were too badly priced. Only 4 stars due to how quiet and not busy it was and how a lot of what is advertised on the site wasn't put into play with our group. I'll definitely go back in hopes of being covered in blood and guts! BRING EXTRA CLOTHES if you go. Trust me.
Went last night, Friday, October 28, 2022. I thought it would more people with it being so close to Halloween. But, it was not crowded at all.
I didn’t purchase any food there. So, I can not say anything about it other than that they have food options. I did however get a hot chocolate that was one of the best I have ever had.
You have to pay to go to the town even if you are not participating in the trail. I thought that kinda sucked. Maybe you could at least have a reduced price for people who prefer not to do the trail. But, hey they have to make money. I am sure that isn’t cheep to run a little town like that.
We had a great time walking around the town and watching the live entertainment in the middle. The shops were great as well. You can get your Tarot cards read. Have a beer at one of the bars. They have plenty of photo opportunity’s in the town. I wish I would have taken more. There’s a screen outside for movies but they weren’t playing anything on it.
While you wait for your turn for the trail you can walk around the town and they will text you when it’s your turn.
The trail was okay. I was in the back of our group and was always just standing there while they did whatever to the people with a red bracelet in the front and never knew what was going on. So my experience was walking through the woods and looking at a few spooky scenes. I had not one scary moment. So no jump scares. Everything was for people with the red band. I can say that all the actors were VERY good! They just were not scary. Just kinda spooky. But the acting and scenery was really, really great!
This place has so much potential and I can not wait to see what they can bring to life here.
*NOTE•
If you get the red bracelet, you WILL get wet and dirty! Bring a change of clothes, something to put you phone into so it doesn’t get wet/muddy.
This place is really cool. Its an actual town separate from the haunt. Old west style with the main road and shops lining either side. Vendors have all kinds of hand crafted items for sale. The souvenir shop is also a museum of oddities. Theres a palm reader. Even if you don’t want to do the trail you could waste a few hours just in the town.
The trail itself has 3 levels of scare. These aren’t clearly defined when purchasing tickets online. The general admission which is just the normal scare. No touching or interaction from the actors. The yellow band which just states mud and blood. And the red band which states blood, mud and the actors can touch you. They could better explain each so you know what you’re getting into. Not to mention there wasn’t any like fake blood, it was just tons of water with food coloring. I think when they state blood and mud instead of just focusing on dumping water on people they could use fake blood to splatter them randomly when walking the trail. They had a good bit of actors out in the fields for jump scares and them just throwing a handful of fake blood would be cool.
Also they sale ponchos before the trail to combat some of the water but if the actors are telling you to take the hood down and pouring water into the collar it defeats the purpose of it. Plus when its cold freezing water just kind of ruins the experience.
I like the idea of it. I’ve said for years that haunted houses needed to hit you with fake blood or water based paints or whatnot to really add to the experience. But freezing water isn’t it. I went to one that randomly they dumped rice on you while saying “watch out for the maggots.” Like that was a different thing to do.
I also felt the actors got caught up in worrying about pouring water on you rather than the performance. What really attracted me to this was the statement 35 minute theatrical performance. Usually I look for haunts that have multiple houses/things like hayrides and mazes or zombie paintball/escape. But a solid 35 minutes of theatrics, well. Sold!
There was a bunch of the actors that really did a good job but they also weren’t any that were dumping water on you. The doctors you meet. The witches. The.. zombie hunter? They put on their performances magnificently. The witches specifically. Also the guide at the beginning gives you some back story for the town. Which was cool to hear. I’d prolly move him into the town so he could give all his info to you while you wait to get to the trail. Or if you don’t want to do the trail you could still hear the history.
I definitely recommend this haunt. We’ll be back next year. I’d do the bands again. I just hope they look more into more fake blood than just dousing you in water. Like the church raining blood makes perfect sense for that but the whole trail? Nah.
And another recommendation is they should put some lockers up. The kind that they have at public places so instead of carrying things that could get ruined with water you could store them before the trail. I did want to purchase some things from the shops but didn’t want to carry them around til the trail or even through the trail. And then after the trail we were soaked so we just left.
We had an awesome time here tonight, and the kids for sure got so scared. All the vendors here were awesome and were very kind to the kids and the staff helped us out alot. Wearing the gold bracelets was awesome getting covered in the blood and whatever else they wanted to put on you. The best part was getting to dunk my husband's head in the toilet.
I experienced Terror Town for Camp Xul 1 and 2, where a music festival was combined with a haunted town.
I will say that the atmosphere was amazing. Actors were awesome, makeup was great! Everyone on staff was kind, helpful, and accepting of all the walks of life that entered the grounds. I can't speak more highly of these folks. I will be back again and again. Thank you for everything!
