Friends of Alum Creek Dog Park

Address: 3993 Hollenback Rd, Lewis Center, OH 43035, USA

Park

“My puppy absolutely loves it. There is a separate dry park (small/large) and then an awesome fenced in beach down on the shore that is also roped off so they cannot swim too far. A hose was added near the bathrooms to wash off after play time. Other owners seem attentive to their dogs and no one seemed to bring aggressive ones in. There are people who bring toys and stuff in - so if your dog doesn’t 100% agree with drop it/leave it, you might irritate a few people. (Whoops - he’s a puppy)”

Alum Creek Dam

Address: 4171 Lewis Center Rd, Lewis Center, OH 43035, USA

“Great place to enjoy with family or alone - Good walking trial from down of the dam to top of the dam and side of the dam - Good view of sunrise and sunset - Good place for jogging too - Good place for family or office picnic - Good place to grill and spend time with friends , family or office colleagues - has a kids play area too - parking maybe tougher in summer - Winter is good too (wear your winter jackets , 🧥 gloves 🧤, head scarf🧣 ) to enjoy the walking view of lake and dam Enjoy the visit!!”

Smith Park

Address: 1679-901, County Rd 7, Delaware, OH 43015, USA

Park

“Smith park is decent. It has a very small playground for young tots on the south side. It has a medium sized playground for older kids on the north end. There are baseball fields in between. The restrooms are MUCH cleaner than Blue Limestone or Mingo, though they were lacking in soap. All in all, it's pretty good!”

Columbus Zoo and Aquarium

Address: 4850 W Powell Rd, Powell, OH 43065, USA

Zoo Aquarium Park Amusement park

“One of the best days of our vacation was spent at this zoo! I would definitely come back again, this time maybe for The Wilds experience. We got there fairly early, not long after opening. FYI, there is a parking fee collected when you enter the lot, so be ready. We saw so many animals and had great views that allowed for some awesome pics. Definitely recommend spending the extra cash to feed the giraffes, too. I do this at any zoo that offers it and it never gets old. We covered most of the zoo in a very busy 3 hours, but if you want to take your time, you could easily spend a whole day. Oh, and I loved the Frosty cart, it was a great treat right before heading out. I haven't seen one like this anywhere else and it was a perfect ending to the day. Definitely recommend.”

Blue Limestone Park

Address: 6 King Ave, Delaware, OH 43015, USA

Park

“This park is a nestled gem of Delaware. The park wasn't too crowded to lose track of the kiddos. And the bathrooms were actually decent. There is a small and large playground to accommodate most ages. Watching the wildlife from the boardwalk was definitely a treat. The park also features "learning on the go" sign games around the park, for the kids to continue learning.”

Lone Oak Farm

Address: 3318 Panhandle Rd, Delaware, OH 43015, USA

Park

“Manager Bill Oman caters to the needs of hunters for a few hours out with their bird dogs - grounds have gotten smaller due to urban encroachment but are well managed like a natural game bird habitat - it is a great place to break in a young dog or tune-up an older dog before the new season starts”

Stratford Ecological Center

“Excellent way to connect with nature. Great trails, farm animals, and other fine ways to enjoy a semi- curated experience of a working farm. Great volunteers and so much wonderful leaning for the kids.”

Delaware Reservoir Playground

Address: 3872 U.S. Hwy 23 N, Delaware, OH 43015, USA

Park

“Our first time here was a blast. It's really a beautiful little area. My son (4 years old) had enough to do on this big playground that he didn't even care to walk over to the other playground area (smaller and geared towards smaller children) Picnic area, tables, restrooms and grounds all very clean. It's a pretty area to walk around at and view the reservoir. We will definitely be going back.”

Ohio to Erie Trail

Address: Erie Trail, Sunbury, OH 43074, USA

“Great riding surfaces mostly paved and excellent low resistance nonpaved surface with minimal gravel. Well maintained. Varied scenery. Signage could be better particularly when detours and streets are involved like in Westerville,Ohio.”

River Run Park

Glen Oak Park

Address: 7126 Blue Holly Dr, Lewis Center, OH 43035, USA

“As the name says Glen oak park this one is next to Glen oak elementary school. This is very beautiful park you won’t find much trees but you will see lot of green grass and nice views in the evenings. This one has sledge which is mainly open in winters for sledging in snow. Apart from that it has soccer field, kids playgrounds , shelters with barbecue. This park has also small ponds which gives nice views and has small nice bridges. Enough parking place and nice path for walkers, biking and dog walkers. There is small section of woods which consist of mud tracks for walker or bikes. This is surrounded by communities so it’s quite and calm.”

Orange Bridge Park

Address: 6943-7077 Columbus Pike, Lewis Center, OH 43035, USA

Park

“The bridge is over Rte 23, making for a noisier walk. There are 6 picnic tables, 3 shaded. Only a couple of parking spots, with one being for handicap parking. On both sides of the bridge is a mix of residential and commercial areas. Since it is next to busy Rte 23, and there isn't much to keep kids entertained, I don't recommend it for them. The park makes the most sense for people visiting who live and work within walking distance of it.”

Columbus Zoo and Aquarium

Address: 4850 W Powell Rd, Powell, OH 43065, USA

Zoo Amusement park Park Aquarium

“We absolutely enjoyed our whole experience at the zoo! It was very clean and spacious. All of the animals seemed happy. You could tell a lot of thought went into each animals living space. We really enjoyed getting a under water and a separate above water view of the Polar Bear. And enjoyed watching the monkeys swing and play on there nice "jungle gym". I've told several people how much we enjoyed it and recommend this zoo. We will def make plans to attend again”

O'Shaughnessy Nature Preserve

Address: 9201 Ladona Dr, Powell, OH 43065, USA

Park

“Went stand up paddle boarding here for the first time and I plan to make this my new regular spot. Lots of great places to access on and off the reservoir. There was a stand up paddle board yoga class on the water as well. Plenty of parking. Note: Google maps tried to have us park on a road and walk through the woods to the ramp for accessing the water. Just had to keep going north on Dublin Rd and turn in at the sign for the preserve.”

Gallant Woods Park

Address: 2151 Buttermilk Hill Rd, Delaware, OH 43015, USA

Park

“Beautiful place to walk and enjoy nature, this is a medium park where one can easily complete a 5k without looping on yourself, there is a great set of trails that connects and a sled riding hill as well. This park is nice during all seasons. The addition of the mindfulness reminders along the path are very nice.”

Delaware Preservation Parks - Ohio to Erie Trail

Address: 398-264 E Cherry St, Sunbury, OH 43074, USA

Park

“Very shady in Sunbury and soon will be able to go from Sunbury into Galena since workers are connecting trails. I am very sad some of the people in Sunbury do not follow rules. A yellow tape has been put across the end of this trail to keep people safe and off dirt and cinders as they prepare to blacktop. Unfortunately people are going around the tape with children in wagons. What are we teaching our children? Please respect yellow tape it won't be much longer!”
