Park

“My favorite park. Sunday the trains were running and the excitement on the kids faces was priceless. There is a great play area for the kids. My wife and I hiked 2.63 miles on the rabbit run trail. Very beautiful although a bit muddy in places. Check this place out!”

Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

Address: 7866 Kirtland Chardon Rd, Kirtland, OH 44094, USA

Church

“Fantastic historic site of great significance to members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Many interpretive exhibits, a visitor's center, and a number of restored buildings from historic Kirtland, the headquarters for the early Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The highlight is the Whitney Store, where Joseph Smith resided for a time and where a number of revelations significant to Latter-day Saints were received--also the location of the "School of the Prophets." Tours are conducted by missionaries for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They range from young and enthusiastic to older and more knowledgeable, but they are all amicable. They will be pretty open about how they feel about their faith; the tours definitely have a religious theme they don't shy away from, but I haven't seen them be overbearing. Well worth a visit, especially for Latter-day Saints, but also interesting for history buffs in general, even if not Mormon.”

Anoka TACC

Local government office

“This is an incredibly spiritually moving, sacred and inspirational place. Step into the 1830s walking in the footsteps of Joseph Smith. Be in the same room where the Bishops storehouse began. Relive several key moments in church history. Imagine 500 wagon trains lined up to head out west. Start in the visitor center and have a free guided tour from very knowledgeable missionaries. Plan to have a relaxing picnic here. Don't forget to go up the road to Kirtland Temple OR drive 45mons to Johnson Farm.”
