“We called last minute while traveling cross country- they were very kind and accommodating. They gave us a site number in case they were closed when we arrived. Turns out the site they gave us was taken but a quick phone call to cell number posted and we got taken care of. We didn’t utilize any services because we just needed a place to park with power and water for the night. I didn’t see any sewer connection at our site and we didn’t ask for a dump station. Rate was $40. Had decent cell service with ATT”

“The Metro Parks of Toledo take care of their parks really well. During this particular visit my partner and I were visiting the Manor House, which is detailed on another review. We did go to a model train exhibit, although I'm really not a fan of Lionel. It was fine, however because of my model train preferences I could have spent the 15 minutes of walking to the building and walking around the displays in other ways. Where I did walk about, there was no litter on the ground and everything was clean, as I would expect with a Toledo Metro Park. I will come back.”

“Pearson is a good Metropark for visiting a park with kids. There are playgrounds and a pond. It seems like a family gathering park more than a walking park. There are walking and bicycle trails, but they're shorter than I like. I have no serious complaints about Pearson. When considering Metroparks, I just like Wildwood better for its size and versatility.”

“This is a great park which offers two distinct opportunities to engage in your sport or hobby: model aircraft flying, and archery. Very well maintained. Uncrowded unless their is an event. Also a great place to sit and eat the sandwich you purchased up the street at Garden Harvest Marketplace.”

“Love this campground! Owners are wonderful and are constantly working to make the campground a wonderful place to stay. The pond is very well kept and my family loves to swim in it and relax by the beach. If you’re looking for a friendly place to spend a weekend or a month, Campfire is top notch!”

“Absolutely fantastic new park. It is a great example of how habitat restoration can be done and well. Since opening I've come back each spring, all the way from Maine, to see the progression. From the start it attracted hordes of birds and each year a greater diversity call it home. On my visits this year I was horned lark, common gallinule, egret and heron in abundance, terms of every size, white pelican, grebes, several swallow species. I could go on. This park is a treasure in Ohio. I hope even more of the Great Black Swamp is restored some day. It's worth out while. For the less birding inclined, this park is handicap accessible throughout and offers opportunity to paddle in pools. Just wear sunscreen as there is no shade to speak of”

“Awesome place with lots of rare flora and fauna. I feel the need to remind people that it is a nature preserve and it’s only intended goal is to preserve nature. Walking trails are secondary to the overall goal of Kitty Todd. The trails all have markers and there are maps at the front near the gazebo. The trails are maintained more than well enough for walking through”

“This place is kind of great because it's a free and pretty outdoor place to go with the family or even yourself. And they have one of the most unique playgrounds in the city. It's basically like a combination of treehouses and obstacle courses. They don't have things like swings or slides. They have stuff that's made for climbing and walking through. They have a tunnel made of nets and a bouncy bridge going from one tree to another. And they usually have events for Halloween or other holidays. As you can see in the pictures we also like to picnic here because they have a really beautiful spread of land with different flowers and structures, perfect for picnicking. If you were a writer, this also would be your ideal go to place for writing. Also, it's a place for weddings which my sister had done and it was nice.”

“Great experience for younger fossil hunters. I actually hunted for fossils at the quarry around 40 years ago here. It is vastly different now. The area has large piles of rock/gravel in areas that lend themselves to finding small fossils. Along the edges of the area are larger rock that can be split to find fossils also. I would suggest bring a small hammer and chisel even though they say it is not needed.”
