Massive park has many features from gardens to bridges and lakes full of fish and turtles. You can rent kayaks and pedal boats and fish or enjoy photography or bike riding or jogging and walking. This park extends for miles and is well maintained and consistently patrolled. It has the distinguishment of being the largest urban park in the USA..bigger than Central Park in New York. It was utilized for mining coal and other minerals and the river was a power source for a number of mills that built this areas economy and development. It can take quite a while to explore it all since various adjacent areas are in the parks jurisdiction. There are no food places in the park except for at the golf course. There is also a working mill to visit with a beautiful covered bridge and waterfall. A unique treasure to visit..
It's been awhile since we had been there. The walkway to the wetlands need a bit of work there are a few spots to be aware of, so just be careful. Lots of geese and ducks swimming with their babies. The end of the night a few deer stopped by
Beautiful around fall, the colors look amazing on the lake side and the paths that follow the water are almost out of a fantasy
this park is beautiful. It's a great place to see nature, turtles, geese, go fishing or on a paddle boat. Also there is a boat launch for kayakers.
Never knew these wetlands existed! It was a pleasant surprise and an enjoyable walk. Well maintained, quiet and a wonderful place to see different wildlife. I will enjoy visiting multiple times this summer and maybe even enjoy a picnic here vs some of the more overcrowded parts of Mill Creek Park.
