If she was “rude” to you I PROMISE you deserved it. These reviews are crazy “the employee put me on hold” YEAH and then told her boss how you were behaving and her boss told YOU the real deal. She does NOT allow people to disrespect her staff. That is LITERALLY the definition of being a good business owner. If I could give them more stars I would. Our go-to drinks—which we order wherever we go—were better than any other bar in the area. The only reason this is not getting a 5 star review is because the crab cakes were less than ideal and the entrance was not exactly clear. However the chicken sandwich was very good. “True story. I met Glenn, the chef and owner of Edgar's, and his then-fiancee now-wife, 30 years ago on Martha's Vineyard when he was just beginning his culinary journey. Since then, I hadn't seen or talked to him until I got invited to join a buddy of mine at Edgar's for a drink in February just before the Super Bowl. Being relatively new to the Akron area, I wasn't aware of what great food I had been missing out on and that Glenn's and my paths had crossed 30 years earlier. We recently recreated the picture from our fun times on the Vineyard (that's us in the upper right hand corner) and I have become a regular at Edgar's because of it's warm and welcoming vibe (what the TV show Cheers would be like if it were set in Akron overlooking a public golf course with a killer sunset view), great bartenders, great service and, of course, fantastic food. Chef's kiss. It's all about the food. I recently shared Jamaican BBQ Wings, Plantains with lemon and ginger, and baked Grouper (a Ghanaian recipe) with my daughter, and we both were impressed with how perfectly seasoned everything was. We even got hot, freshly baked bread brought to our table by our gracious server, Marshall. That was the evening of Tuesday March 7. The following evening, I met another buddy of mine at Edgar's. I had the Plantains again (did not disappoint one bit), a bowl of Gumbo that reminded me of grandma's Gumbo from way back in the day, warm bread, and lemoncillo cheesecake. Everything was on point. If you have never been to Edgar's, do yourself a favor and get there ASAP. Bring your appetite. The food is very reasonably priced given its high quality. Old skool music serves as a nice backdrop to the amazing dining experience. On Friday evening there is a live DJ after 9:00 and on some Saturdays there is a live band (you have to make reservations and pay a cover charge if you want to be close to the performers). Finally, Edgar's is a great place to host an event on their patio during the warmer months of Northeast Ohio. I am planning to have my birthday party on June 10th. I can't wait to gather friends and family for a celebration that includes great food, drinks, music, golf (if you want to get in 18 holes) and and a westward vista that includes a killer view of the orange glow of the sunsetting on the patio of Edgar's restaurant and bar. Five stars for sure.”

They have many new selections which I never knew of such as ribs and chicken wings not to mention specialty pizzas. We were practically raised on Guiseppe's pizza and it is as good today, some 40+ years later, as it ever was. Thank you Mr. Zimbardi for your commitment to top quality ingredients, customer service (as exemplified by Dave Hardy over the years) and to your customers. Love the new mini pizzas. I couldn't decide what pizza to get so I ordered plain cheese for one and for the other "Darlene's favorite" which was excellent. “Wow! What an experience it was dining here. I came from Cleveland due to a Cleveland food page asking where one can get spicy mangonadas nearby, and everyone said this was the only place. I was in the area anyway and stopped in at an hour and a half before close. The owners were there and they were so so SWEET. The kindest people with a beautiful space! So clean and so much effort put into the decor. I felt like I was at home, and the food was delicious!! I ate about 25% of my burrito and that’s with me starving! The food is HIGH QUALITY and it was served within ten minutes. Everyone was so kind and friendly, I didn’t want to leave!! I was tell the women that was waiting on me that I grew up in Kenmore and it use to be A custard stand and I use to go by there then. So glad we stopped there. We will definitely be going back. Prices was good. Made the pizza just the way to we like it. We don't like the red sauce so they put the garlic sauce one it. It was very very tasty. Ordered it there and within 20 minutes it was done. Great job. Ladies.”
