I truly enjoyed my tour at Frank Phillips Home. The tourist guide was very knowledgeable of the history of the Phillips family and little facts. Very interesting.
Getting all the facts from the tourist guide, I knew quite a bit once I arrived at Woolaroc. THANK YOU!
This is a lovely house to tour. Most of the furniture is original to house. The few renovations that have been done kept to the original style of the house. Restorers have worked closely with family members to keep things as they were. It is a very nice time capsule for seeing and learning about household life in the first half of the 20th century. The garage museum and gift shop is also a nice plus.
The curator, Kathy, made this a wonderful experience. We toured the free museum in the garage first, got some background, bought a souvenir. Tour started right on time and she made it fun and interesting. Took about an hour. Wouldn't recommend for small children - they'd be bored. People who have trouble standing need to bring a scooter. Elevator for disabled only. Lots of parking. Seniors and vets $8.
I grew up in the area, but never went to the Frank Phillip's Home Museum until 2023, when I was 65 years old. The interesting aspect and the value if the tour, to me, was less in the opulent house, furnishings and collectibles and more in the stories and facts presented by the tour guide and the tour guide herself. Quite knowledgeable and genuinely interested in the facts and the place. A very good tour and a very interesting mansion and story.
Nice display for a small museum. Be sure to check the hours for house guided tour if you want to go inside the house with reasonably priced tickets. The garage side (as seen in our pictures) is free, btw
