I came to James with an excruciating pain in my right hip. As an avid golfer, the limitation kept me off the golf course for over 2 weeks. After my first visit, James was able to quickly diagnose that the problem was actually with my weak left knee and the hip pain was due to favoring my right side. After working out hard nearly every day for 8 years, James has restructured my entire workout routine to achieve a more balance and strength through whole ranges of motion vs. static weight training and hard-pounding cardio. Each session with James builds on the last and continues to improve my overall core strength and muscle structure in areas requiring stability. Thank you James!

We are really grateful for James. One of our family members was diagnosed with scoliosis and we were devastated. We searched all over and tried different things before we found James and Functional Patterns. Our family member has gained 15+ pounds of muscles in 6 months, experiences no pain, and has more confidence. Also, they were not an easy case and had never had a serious workout in their lives! Overall, we feel more optimistic about the future. James also encourages habits and self care outside of his practice that have been insightful and appreciated. He’s just a really swell person and we appreciate his dedication and heart to help his clients.

James is a great guy, he know his stuff, can demonstrate how movements are supposed to work and understands body mechanics very well. When he is coaching you through a position he is encouraging And positive. I have had many other PT’s look at my spine and scoliosis and say if it’s not hurting you then why fix it. James too one look and said yeah I think there are improvements to be made that will help you years down the road. I have learned so much about how my body is supposed to function, and have seen great improvements in my body posture and range of motions. Functional patterns is where it’s at and James know how to teach it very well, give it a 3 month try you won’t be disappointed.

    Cheers

Before going to James I dealt with an injury that physical therapy, yoga, traditional weightlifting, and other “functional” movement modalities all failed to heal. After going to James I actually learned about my body and how it is supposed move, and was able to address not only my shoulder pain, but also countless other dysfunctions.

Going to James is definitely hard but rewarding work and if you’re willing to commit to the process the results you will see will absolutely change your life and I am not exaggerating.

Seeing James, and the Functional Patterns mindset and philosophy that he lives by has been a huge proponent to my personal life and fitness journey. I highly recommend anybody that wants to reclaim their health and body back go see him immediately

I’ve had 2 knee surgeries from playing soccer and have stopped playing soccer because of knee pain. Since training only a few times with James I feel no knee pain and feel lighter on my feet when I am running. I’ve also had intermittent neck pain and when I work on exercises prescribed by James I feel a lot better. He is very knowledgeable and after just one session you can feel a difference!
