“If I could give Black Walnut 1000 stars, I would! The first word that comes to mind is WOW. Our stay at Black Walnut Vineyard was nothing short of amazing. The service is TOP NOTCH. Collin, especially, is the absolute best! He is super friendly and extremely knowledgeable on all things Willamette Valley. He provided recommendations to great wineries and restaurants. The entire staff is extremely friendly, and the word “no” is certainly not in their vocabulary. They even helped us package and ship our wine. And hats off to Chef Chase. His food is incredible! We could not wait to go to breakfast in the morning which was outstanding! The food is fresh and delicious. Even on our last day when Chef knew we wouldn’t be able to go to breakfast because we had to leave very early for the airport, he packed us up some of his amazing breakfast scones which we devoured at the airport! And if you have time to do dinner at Black Walnut, absolutely do it! We had the most spectacular meal with Chef Chase. The food was just the best. To top it all off, the grounds. Wow is Black Walnut a hidden gem. It is a Tuscan villa taken straight from Italy. The grounds are absolutely stunning. The views of the beautiful Dundee hills are spectacular. The property itself is great too. The main house is straight out of a Restoration Hardware catalog (literally). It’s beautifully decorated and there are plenty of things to do. You can lounge on one of the many patios, sit by the fire pits, play Corn Hole, or just simply open a bottle of wine and just sit to enjoy the view (with blankets provided if it’s chilly, of course). Our room was also so beautiful. We had a big comfortable bed and the room had all the amenities and more. Our favorite part of the room was the private patio with Adirondack chairs where we would sit and enjoy our wine each day. I cannot say enough good things about Black Walnut. They truly make you feel like family here. I always thought going to Oregon would be a one-time experience. However, after staying at Black Walnut, I am already wanting to plan to return and stay here because it was just that good.”

“Really really good burrito (I ordered the vegetarian) with exceptionally fresh ingredients. The portions were generous and yet I somehow still managed to inhale the entire thing in under 5 minutes (honestly, it was that good). The deliciousness of the burrito was only surpassed by the patience and sweetness of the proprietor who gracefully handled my high school Spanish despite the fact that it at times morphed into my college level Mandarin Chinese. Languages are hard people, and this place has a new loyal customer. Nom nom nom.”

“First time here today! Everything is fresh and very tasty! We got the shrimp and chicken bowl, a chicken burrito, and fried cauliflower. I can say that the chicken burrito was the best I've had locally! It also has very healthy options such as the shrimp and chicken dish that my wife had. The fried cauliflower was well seasoned with a good dipping sauce. We will definitely be frequenting here!”

“I was house sitting for my cousin and I googled “dive bars near me” but this bar turned out to be The Epitome of the bar cheers. The bartender possibly the owner is funny, humble, and has a big heart for his staff and his customers. It was quite entertaining listing to the customers share jokes to eachother it was like one big family.”

“The Red Hills Market in Dundee is the perfect starting point for an Oregon wine tasting tour. The one thing you need to do is allow yourself a little bit a time as this special lunch experience is very popular, plus they take the time to create excellent dishes. As you work your way through the line to the counter for your order you will be overwhelmed with the amount of sights and smells from the surrounding shelves. I would strongly recommend the tuna melt which sounds pretty pedestrian but it has great flavor and a very hearty lunch that quite honestly you can split.”

I like that you can tweak the menu to match your food preference if you are vegetarian or vegan. The servers are friendly and accommodating to the guests! Michael and Kylar served us with warm smiles and conversation. The General Manager, Fernando, made certain that the food and wine was perfect and met our expectations!
