“The cemetery grounds are well kept. The cemetery is well lit at night. The cemetery is open from 7 am to 8:30 pm. This particular cemetery is right next or incorporated into Friends and Friends view cemetery. The paths or roads are very narrow and there isn't a lot of room to turn around. It is best to visit during daylight hours.”

“Dad's burial service at Willamette National Cemetery was beautiful and very efficient with the Funeral Director's help. He guided us through everything from beginning to end. The honor guard's presence and flag ceremony was very moving and so appreciated. They allowed our family to provide pallbearers, which my brothers had wanted to do.”

“The people who work here are wonderful! I can not say how nice and kind they are to everyone during such a difficult time in life. Tim, our funeral director was fantastic. He answered all of questions quickly and accurately. He kept in touch with us (even on the weekend), through email and text. If we called the main office the office staff was efficient in taking a message and making sure Tim got in touch with us as soon as he could, which was quicker than we thought. He did a great job of organizing and getting my Grandfather's funeral put together. It was so nice to work with such a kind, caring and devoted staff.”

“The earliest markers are from 1860s. A very Iarge Pioneer cemetery. A large "Indian bean" tree in the middle with pretty flowers in season. Large oaks. Many of the names in this cemetery are the names of the local streets, roads, and areas. Very few markers are newer than 1950s.”

“It was raining steadily whilst I had been biking today, and I wanted somewhere I could get off the highway and get out of the rain. So I pulled into this quaint little cemetery, and rested under the shelter until the rain subsided again. What impressed me most here is how nearly every grave and memorial is decorated with some type of colourful flowers -- fresh or artificial -- even though it is not a holiday of any kind. It's very pretty and seems so thoughtful.”

“A large catholic cemetery with a portion that is Pioneer era. Many Irish buried here. The earlier markers appear to be from the 1870s.”

“This serene and stately cemetery is sited near the edge of urban activity south of downtown Portland, Oregon in 1882. The cemetery is the final resting place of many of Portland's early leaders, including Simon Benson, George Abernethy, Abigail Scott Duniway, Henry Weinhard, Albertina Kerr, and even Virgil Earp, US Marshal in Tombstone, Arizona, Union soldier, and farmer. The forested and landscaped 360 acres offer a true oasis from the bustle of urban life and its location near the Willamette River provides a wonderful vantage of Mount Hood and Cascade Mountains. I found that the staff at the cemetery were very knowledgeable, professional and friendly, and gave me map copies to find some of my descendants and a few of the local "celebrities".”

“Dog owners not stopping their pets from urinating and defacating here! Banning them is necessary to avoid such disgustingly disrespectful behavior should ban any walk through here as this a graveyard that is private property and not a park or public walkway! It is already hard on the caretakers why must they have to pick up after such people.”

“This is by far the nicest cemetery I've been to. Very well kept and organized. They even have a touch screen kiosk where you can look up internments, which was unfortunately not working when I came by, but still quite advanced.”

“I was given a 3 pg list from Hospice I called Duyck and Van De Hey because the name was familiar. They were very kind on the phone and put my mind at ease. we had some special circumstances in taking my father to NV where he had a plot. Aaron took care of everything for me. Permits, cemetary details in NV, any and all paperwork I would need. He did a wonderful job making my dad look natural and just peacefully sleeping. Everyone working there was kind and comforting. I highly recommend them.”
