“Our love affair with Teppanyaki Kyoto started almost a decade ago. We stumbled upon this restaurant when trying to experience authentic Japanese cuisine. As my husband and I are originally from Long Island NY and NYC, we had once had many restaurants that fit the bill. That changed, however, after moving to Pittsburgh. That said, none of them can hold a candle to Teppanyaki Kyoto. We have dined in restaurants with several Michelin stars and have often wondered why this restaurant has yet to earn one. They deserve it. We decided to have a meal here to get a baseline before leaving for our honeymoon in Japan, that way the experience would be fresh in our minds. There was not a single bite we had anywhere in Japan... not in Tokyo, not in the countryside... not near Mount Fuji, that exceeded the taste, preparation or quality of this restaurant. It is 100% authentic and an absolute gem. We are so lucky to have this wonderful restaurant in our city. When guests arrive from NY and beyond, this is always a MUST and our guests always request that at some point we go here for lunch or dinner. In the just under a decade we have been going to this restaurant it has ALWAYS been consistent, delicious, never a mishap or mistake, never a rude waiter or waitress and above all, we have always been welcomed for a delicious meal. Thank you.”

“My client always gets their meds from here (delivered). They are very fast and nice. They will even include vitamins and gloves when we ask. They are sometimes hard to get on the phone though. Overall nice place.”

“This is a great place to go with family. I especially enjoyed the elephants, although I am sure they regularly change their exhibits. If you go, plan on bringing extra money for drinks and food. A bottle of Aquafina was $5.35. You could also opt to bring your own water and snacks, but make sure you follow the rules. Today when we checked into the gate, we didn't have anyone check our bags. But always follow the rules they have on their site. It took us about 3 hours to walk briskly around the Zoo. If you want to take your time, I'd give it 5 hours and plan on eating. For those with walking troubles, you can rent a scooter in advance or rent a wheel chair. There are lots of hills to plan for, so make sure you have a good pusher for the chair. It is a wooded area, but sunscreen is still a good thing to have. Most of all, have fun! Hope this helps.”

“I had to change my review. The Forestry Dept. finally trimmed my city-owned Chinese ginkgo trees in July 2019. I actually was able to speak to the members of the Forestry crew and they are a great bunch of guys...hard working also. But here is the problem: 1. The mayor and the city want a tree canopy. However, they do not provide the budget, manpower or the equipment to take care of all the trees in the city. 2. Trees need maintenance. You can't just plant them and forget about them. They need to be inspected for disease and insect infestation. And they also need trimming and pruning. 3. The mayor and city council need to recognize that the Forestry Dept. has a monumental job to do. There needs to be an increase in the Forestry Department's budget, more employees need to be hired and more/updated equipment provided. 4. Put the bike lanes on the back burner for awhile and take care of the tree canopy. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The urban forester sent a letter to all residents on Seaton Street in Brookline earlier this year that Forestry was going to treat the city-owned Chinese ginkgo trees that drop foul smelling berries in the fall. The treatment was supposed to slow down or stop the fruiting process on the female ginkgo trees. The letter stated that the work would be done in May and September 2018. The treatments were never done. The urban forester decided that treating the trees would be "too expensive." But, she did not have the professional courtesy to send out a second letter informing the Seaton Street residents of her decision to stop the process. One would think that before the first letter was mailed, the urban forester would have done some homework and had quotes from various arborists.”

“My family just moved in the Parkland apartment last week. Our experience has been super great! 1. Management staff helped us a lot during the contract process, and are very responsive to our fixing requests after moving-in. 2. We love to use new appliances and satisfy renovated interiors (I bet you also love it!). 3. We can feel the weather changes while seating a cozy sofa because of glass walls. 4. It is unavoidable to hear construction noise during a day. But, it was not a big thing that I had expected. Drilling or moving stuff finishes around 3 or 4 pm. It does not degrade our life quality at all. 5. I was able to finish moving my family stuff in one and half hour due to the use of an elevator. 6. Very convenient to take buses (71A, 71B) It seems that a renovated gym would be open sooner or later. Everything will be better off as time goes by.”
