“Very cool place in the middle of nowhere. Took the difficult trail to get to the top. We had to scramble over snow and ice covered rocks. I wouldn't recommend that trail for anyone with young children or physical impairments. The view from the top is incredible. We went in mid-November. There were still some colorful leaves but we missed the peak of fall. The observers were very friendly and knowledgeable. There were still plenty of Hawks and even a few eagles making their way through. This is a must do if you are within 100 miles. Well worth the trip. Bring your binocs!”

“If you enjoy watching hawks, falcons or eagles fly by you on their fall migration south, then Hawk Mountain Sanctuary is the place to be. Best time to see the most birds of prey is August thru November.”

“Lovely, peaceful lake owned by the PA fish and boat commission. Fishing regulations fall under the "Big Bass Lake" category. This means their open fishing seasons are different from the standard rules.”

“Quiet little park, tucked in a small development that is primarily surrounded by retired people. The equipment is maintained there is also a baseball field, pavilion, band stand, and basketball court. Nice place overall.”

“After following the Red Trail for about an hour, we reached River of Rocks. As the name of the place imply, there are rocks everywhere; however, you'll hear gurgling sound of water flowing beneath rocks. River of Rocks isn't as impressive as Boulder Field in Pocono Mountains and not easily accessible to visitors, nonetheless less crowded and peaceful even during the height of summer vacation season and during a weekend.”

“This playground is almost abandoned but is still maintained by the city. Playground equipment is in fair working condition . Basketball courts used by public. Baseball field has unknown use. A community garden is there and in use. Not a bad place to take the kids. Very quiet and pretty clean.”

“A great place for kids. Indoor nature center with a great helpful staff. Outdoors there are wetland trails and ponds, gardens, disc golf, and a great "natural playground" for kids to explore and play.”

“This is a very nice 200+ acre preserve. The preserve is planted with grasses to provide habitat for Bobolink, Easter Bluebirds and Eastern Meadowlarks. Just look up and you may see the American Kestrels The preserve is also planted with wildflowers to provide habitat for butterflies, bees, wasps and other pollinators. The forest has a great diversity of species including oaks, hickory, ash and maple. Where the preserve needs to improve is its water crossings a log across the stream limits who can traverse this area. Other areas people have stacked up dead branches to assist in crossing wet areas. The addition of a benches at the "scenic views" and other places where bird watching is best. It is best to visit early Sunday morning as the traffic sounds from 176 and route 10 can be very loud along the eastern and northern ends of the preserve.”
