“I don’t often give a five star review. But this place is legit if you were looking for absolutely delicious home cooked burgers this is your stop. We enjoyed a meatball hoagie, a hamburger, fried mushrooms, hobo beans, haystacks and deviled eggs. We left there with very full bellies and nothing left to throw away. Great service and super hospitality from Bob the owner. This is straight from the farm to the restaurant beef and it is top notch. The buns were high-quality not something that you just pull out of a store bought bag. They were definitely tasty .I highly recommend and we definitely will be returning. We dined in on a dreary December day. It was quite cozy and warm and the establishment was very clean. Everything you need for a great meal.”

I think there has only been one time they were short on items in the island display but could have just been a late truck. I would do a 4 star because of staffing, but I cannot blame a place for people not applying. Seriously, the wait can be long, but even under stress, the employees do things correctly. Frustrating but think about having 5 or more orders to fill at this second your whole shift. And they STILL cook and make things correctly, no short cutting. I need to start getting people's names to put up and commend.”

“Laverne's Restaurant, the perfect stop for homestyle cooking, and great desserts. Located snugly between Waynesburg and Jefferson, on Pennsylvania Route 188, very near the intersection with state route 221. Easy access from the Ruff Creek exit (exit 19) of Interstate 79 makes this place convenient to areas like Washington, as well. A fairly large restaurant with plenty of seating, including a counter for the quick bite. The decor is a little dated, but I think that just adds to the charm of the establishment. It is, however, incredibly clean and well maintained. An excellent place to take the kids, as the family friendly atmosphere almost makes you feel like you're in Grandma's dining room. My family has been eating here for decades, and I've never had a bad experience. The food is always fresh, hot, and delivered with a smile, with plenty of options on the menu to please even the pickiest of eaters. This visit was for Thanksgiving dinner, and everything was delicious. Pies are baked fresh daily, and boy do they sell them. My personal favorite for dessert is the apple dumplings with ice cream. The dumpling is served hot and the ice cream slowly melts as you nibble. Also, some of the best coffee I've ever had the pleasure of consuming. For friendly service, excellent food and very fair prices, make the trip to Laverne's. It's worth the drive from anywhere in Washington, Green and Fayette counties. Go check it out, you'll be glad you did!”

Hers was excellent as was mine. They have the best coleslaw of anyone. It’s ground and very creamy. So if you like this style you’ll love theirs. The pie is homemade and you can taste the difference. My wife had apple and it was absolutely delicious as was my berry. Finally found a home cooking family restaurant. Locally owned and operated. Met the owner who was the chef. We will be back over and over.”

“Great place to have a party, the building holds about 75 comfortably, The food is really good at a fair price. We have parties there around 3 to 5 times a year many years in a row. The building is very clean, Ken and Holly are Great!! Very nice people a good time with Great food! On some days we'll just go down and order cans of different food and bring home. Very easy way to cater a party on your own. We also used Ken and Holly to cater our daughter's wedding 250 people, everything was perfect. So I suggest if you want to have a party outside your house stop by and make arrangements with them. If you're having guest over for a holiday just order pans of food take home and no cooking for the week. Or if you have a big party coming up Call them you won't be disappointed.They can cater 10 people or 400 people and any number between!”
