“Once upon a time, one of my best friends and I were wine trekking across the Lehigh Valley on a lazy Saturday. We hit up Weathered Vineyards and were on our way to Blue Mountain when we saw a barrel and a sign on the side of the road. After my friend pointed it out, I literally backed up in the middle of the road (please do not attempt this) and into the driveway. It turned out that this winery, Hackett, had just opened the day prior. This decision led me to my favorite winery of all time, with one of the best winemakers in the area. Bob is a true artist, and his wine is absolutely amazing. I will say that this winery is not for those who only like sweet wine. His wines are all dry, but they all have great character and are worth the price. He has a small menu, but that is because he takes the greatest care and pride in his creations. It truly shows in the final product. Not only are the wines fantastic, but the venue itself matches what it sells. The tasting room is small, but it is unique in its design. There are board games to play, but sometimes, when it's not busy, the best entertainment is being able to have a chat with Bob or some of the other patrons and just relax in the company of good people. My fiance and I have spent whole days enjoying ourselves here, whether in the tasting room or out on the lawn when it's nice enough outside. Most of our wedding wine will be from here. There's a reason for that.”
