“This museum is dedicated to all things Halloween, and everyone, from historians to kids, will come away with new knowledge about everyone's favorite spooky holiday. The devil is in the details and there are so many nuanced signs to read over at your leisure. I could have spent hours examining all of the haunted artifacts, brought in from real locations. Make sure to look up when you're in the museum gift shop 🤭🤭”

“This is a small museum, but contains quite a bit about the station and the town and people of Elgin. The volunteers are very friendly and welcoming.”

“This museum is not closed. It is open every Saturday afternoon from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and run by various volunteers. After a secretary took off with all the passwords to Google and Facebook, they have been unable to access anything to change it.”

“Fun, little museum specializing in the history of Bastrop and Bastrop county. My favorite part was seeing the arrowheads from any from 8000 BCE -1800CE and learning more about how the city was impacted by WW2. Very friendly staff.”

“Wish I could give more stars. My boys bought me a ride on the T-6, which my father flew in WWII and the Korean War. They even have it dressed up with his famed squadron patch - the Mosquito Squadron. Everyone working there is a volunteer, and everyone we met is the friendliest person you ever met. They rightfully take great pride in the work they do and love to tell you the stories of their planes - and boy do they have some great stories. Truly a fantastic group of people doing some amazing work.”

“The Dinosaur Park is a short drive just east of Austin's Airport and located on the southeast side of Austin. This outdoor attraction features life-size dinosaur statues along an easy walking path and a playground, fossil dig, and picnic area at the beginning/end of the route. We enjoyed a scavenger hunt that has clues posted along the trail and even stopped for a quick photo at each of the photo opp stations. This park seems like it would cater towards younger children but, surprisingly, was a delight to myself and my two teenage boys who were fascinated by the information we learned and the fact that each of the statues were incredibly life-like. We didn't bring a picnic but there were families picnicking at the park and there is a clubhouse available for renting for parties. Be sure to stop at the gift shop for unique souvenirs or a snack before you head home!”
