We tried out the new TLC on the Lake today after receiving a coupon and getting a good review from our neighbors. The restaurant is in a nice location next to Bass Pro on I30. The inside is large but a little dated with minor changes from the previous restaurant.
The hostess was nice enough but only offered inside seating. It was a windy day so we thought the outside might be closed. I didn't ask but wish the patio overlooking the lake had been offered. It was really cold inside, a little dark and had an odd smell. The inside felt a bit shabby.
The saving grace was first our server. We had T and she was great. Polite, prompt, was quick with drink refills, gave us time to enjoy our appetizer for a minute before asking for our main order, making sure the food was timed right, stopped by to check on us throughout the meal and made sure to ask how we enjoyed the restaurant at the end of the meal.
The next great thing was the food. My husband had the chimichuri chicken and it was nice and moist. The flavor was good and it was a good sized portion. I had the chicken marsala and it was so good! Plenty of food. Plenty of sauce and flavor. The fried onions that were on top should have been grilled onions and the bread stick was too dense, it should have been a roll or toast. Just my opinion.
We will go back and try something else and see if we can get on the patio.
8/31/22: This was our first visit. There was plenty of parking and a nice view of the lake. We were greeted by Deacon. He was a great host and bartender. Bo, the chef, stopped by to talk to us and shared his philosophy regarding food preparation and engaging with customers. The draft beer was cold and the blueberry mule was very good. We had the loaded fries with steak, lemon pepper wings and onion rings. The food had was presented very nicely, had great flavor and arrived hot. The restaurant was very clean and we enjoyed the atmosphere. Will definitely return to try the steaks and the rest of the menu.
Loved it. Great customer service and the good was delicious. The eggs Benedict, Mimosa, Burger with fried eggs, pork chop, fries and stuffed peppers did not disappoint. Not too expensive.. Will definitely return. Wonderful view. Fyi- no umbrellas available when it's windy outside.
First time at TLC on the Lake, it's a nice chill spot. After a little rain, the weather cooled down and we decided to sit on the patio facing the lake. We loved it. The food was good, I ordered the beef fajitas and my husband the Cajun chicken pasta. The fajita did not have much flavor and it was too chewy for me. My jaw was hurting from chewing. We'll come back because of service and the atmosphere, I'll just order something different next time :) I enjoyed my evening!
We held a graduation dinner in the private dining room for 25 people. Our waiter was excellent!! He was patient and went above and beyond with his service. Food was delicious!! We definitely will be back. Thank you TLC.
