As far as the Parks..."Buried in Mosquitoes" you can't be outside right before dark or early morning. Something else it is odd there are no lights in the parks. And the state of Texas Marquee for the state park entrance to the Bay sides there's no names or lights on... Now if you're from out of town you have no idea what it is. You have to be very observant to what little signs they do have. I'm proud to say we are from East Texas and our little of Tyler state park is a beautiful place and well kept and groomed. And almost all the other state parks we have visited are lighted Gates Entrance. I can't understand why they do not have it lit up with lights they have electricity. Some one in upper management not doing a very good Job@”

“Good small site with a drip to attract migrants. The day we visited things were slow, but not the fault of the site. Still pulled out some excellent birds at mid-day, including Blue Grosbeaks, a White-tailed Kite and a Painted Bunting, and the habitat is excellent. Definitely worth the visit.”

“My wife and I visited Galveston for a week for our honeymoon. West End Marina was one of the restaurants we were fortunate enough to eat at during our honeymoon. I think we came here everyday we were in Galveston. The food is delicious the drinks are strong and the service is excellent. Granted, as with all things in Galveston on the beach, their products are a little higher than you would find in town. That said, for the view and the company, I would hardly complain. If you are in the area definitely visit West End Marina.”

We took our two big dogs to eat under the great covered patio which kept us out of the sun while looking at the beach. “*Disclosure: When I first moved to Driftwood, it had different management. In fall of 2017, new management came in. My experience that I share is about the new management. Any reviews before fall of 2017....probably accurate as that management was not very good. This complex is absolutely amazing! I have lived in a 2 bed/2 bath and a single 1 bed/1 bath. I loved them both. I was a student at UTMB and stayed for 16 months. The rooms are nicely updated and the complex is clean. The parking lot has many drains so it never floods (not even during Hurricane Harvey!). The staff is incredible. I can be shy at times, but everyone there is so friendly and treats every client like family. They hold special events like luncheons and have dog treats in the leasing office. At Christmas time they had a gift-wrapping station! Everything you needed for gift wrapping they had it for you to use whenever you needed, for free! These apartments are very affordable, especially for being SO close to the beach (basically across the street). Plus, it's also right across the street from Wal Mart, which is also very convenient. I couldn't recommend this apartment more, definitely would live there again if I moved to Galveston again.”
