(March 27, 2019, 1:15 pm)Just out looking for good bird photos and stopped at the parking lot just before the Texas City Dike and found 2 beautiful Brown Pelicans in breeding plumage as well as a bevy of both American White Pelicans and Brown Pelicans and one lone gull in the middle...Herring Gull, I believe. What a great place on a pretty day!

(February 20, 2019, 9:06 am)This place is all you need in one when it comes to fishing. You got a fishing, pier fishing, and even at the far end they have a surf. It's $5 to get in per car, sometimes it's free but I forget when. Also they have a couple of bait shops just before you get on the dike.
