“Interesting historical place. If you go to Galveston and have time, definitely check it out. There was literally no one here when I went. Lots of green grass and great pictures by the gulf. Cool place to go to relax and the history behind the fort is also very interesting.”

“Something cool to see on a Sunday afternoon. They have a submarine that you could actually walk through ( super cramp ) and feel how these seaman lived. There is also a battle ship to explore and kind of get the feel for what these sailors had to endure to protect our freedom. I definitely commend them for their sacrifice.”

“Great park in the daytime. Lots of Naval memorabilia to tour. Fishing 24 hours. Sometimes great fishing both along the bulkhead and on the nice lighted pier. They do charge admission but, it is not expensive. Overall it is a good place to have a good time with the family.”

“If you like history, it is a nice park to visit. Disappointed we couldn't get inside any of the bunkers and fort. They could do a better job setting up the self guided tour with more information boards with smaller amounts of information pertinent to where you are on the grounds versus a few boards with general information about the entire park. Be prepared to walk.”

“Has been and likely will always be the closest, cheapest, and most convenient place to get quick groceries, drinks, snacks, and sandwiches on the West end of Bolivar Peninsula. That's not saying much as it has a monopoly for nearly 15 miles unless you cross the ferry to Galveston Island. Still the staff is hard working and friendly. The owners are long time family friends and what it lacks in selection and value, it makes up for in warmth, character, and honesty. They could use a few extra cashier's on weekends June through September. And the portapots need better lighting!”
