Please note the timing for most of the negative reviews on Google…like most service industry businesses and restaurants, this one suffered during the pandemic. However, both prior to and following the pandemic, the reviews are very positive.
Give Hana’s a try, and help keep a small business going! I doubt you’ll be disappointed, as you can see by my review:
Hot and sour soup was SO good, cannot wait to have it again! Egg rolls had a delicious filling, with a rice wrap and size that reminded me more of spring rolls, but they were good and piping hot…so, who cares?
The sides of fried rice looked dark, so I was initially a tad worried, but flavor was great - I did miss the ‘typical’ mix-in of egg and veggies. (Though that’s a good way to get rubbery eggs and overcooked peas and carrots, which was not a problem here!)
Sesame chicken was breaded and fried (didn’t expect that), which kept it steaming hot (just the way I like it!) and it was delicious with some sweetness mixed into the sauce. The beef and broccoli was perfectly cooked. Even the broccoli was still bright green and flavorful, also had a sweetness to the sauce.
Don’t think we’ve *ever* had meat this tender anywhere!
ONLY reason for my review not being five star is that I would like to see more purely savory meat dish choices, as I am very sensitive to sugar, and the underlying sweetness to both of our main courses would not be my first choice.
Small detail: the soy sauce on the tables is better than most restaurants (maybe because it isn’t slapped with the Kikkoman label like everywhere else?). If I didn’t know how labor and time intensive making soy sauce was, I just might wonder if they made their own. Whatever they use, it’s better and more flavorful than the norm.
Still, I can’t wait to go back! Want to try the pan fried noodles other reviewers have raved about, as well as the beef and noodle soup. The eminently fresh veggies, tender beef and delicious soup we had already should be amazing mixed together with noodles!
We weren’t there on a busy night, but service was fast and friendly without being intrusive. In-restaurant seating is very casual, with chunky wooden benches and tables Comfy enough for a meal, unless you require a back on your chair. Parking on the south side of the building takes you into a ‘back’ door - just keep walking through the next doorway, and you’ll be in the main part of the restaurant.
Enjoy!
Yummy Yummy Yummy! The inside is a little put together but the food is hot and great. I tried the wanton noodle soup and a peach boba juice. Such big portions too have some for later! 9/10 recommend.
I was checking out the market too and they sell some interesting things. I noticed a Vietnamese coffee that was on sale for $6 then I noticed it was $6 because it was expired. LOL good thing coffee has a long shelf life! Jasmine tea..super spicy ramen..sea weed little candies. ☆☆☆☆☆
My husband and I were pleasantly surprised by this little gem in the middle of smalltown Howe, TX. The staff was friendly, and the food was hot, fresh, delicious, and reasonably priced. The fried rice was some of the best I've tasted! The restaurant has indoor and covered outdoor seating available. The music was a bit too loud for my liking, but not horrible. I appreciated that the entire restaurant, including the restroom, was clean and well maintained. We plan to visit again soon!
Always love the food here. Especially the soups and spring rolls. I did come in a little late so they were out of most of the menu but they still had wonton soup. So glad I tried it because I ended up liking it better than the beef soup! Definitely try it out!
