“Lone Star Hiking Trail #10 The San Jacinto River has a few downed tree you can use to cross. Depending on the crossing point it can be hard to find the trail again. Clear path the whole way. There was maybe one section about 30 feet that was overgrown. Found about 3 big logs across the trail but none one them were difficult to get over or around. They were pretty big trees. It was about 6 mile to Trail Head #11. Shortly after you cross Road 2025 you will come to #11.”

“This Houston Audubon wildlife sanctuary provides an escape from the city. A short hike down past magnolias, fern gardens next to a stream, and then you reach the sandy bottom of Winter's Bayou. A wonderful shady area. As this area is nestled in the middle of the Sam Houston National Forest you need to bring insect repellent and appropriate clothing. It is primitive and there are no restroom facilities, so "leave no trace". A great wild adventure. The sanctuary is open from sunrise to sunset.”

“Harvey brought a tree down on the bridge and wiped out another but a log is in its place to cross. Makes for a more adventurous expirence. Mosquito's are everywhere but with good bug spray, you'll be fine. I went with my kids and they loved it. Went again on 3.16.19. Some bridges are fixed and easier to get across, some are the same. Very muddy!”
