“This is an amazing school. This is my kids first year going here, but from day one the staff and teachers have gone above and beyond to make them feel welcome. I enjoy talking to everyone I’ve come in contact with. Amazing fourth and fifth grade teachers, awesome principal and office staff, and the music teacher really enjoys having my kids in choir. My daughter will be in sixth grade next year, but my son will definitely be going back next year as a fifth grader. A wonderful school which I highly recommend to anyone. Lots of fundraising and school activities for the kids and parents/grandparents. I feel the love at Smithfield Elementary and I’m proud to say my kids are a part of the experience this year. “This has been my school from the start EGALE PRIDE. The teachers here are the best ever if you need help they're there for you. You can trust everyone at this school everyone is really nice. The one night I love the most is kids night out. I'm really sad because next year I'll be in seventh grade and I want be able to see these wonderful people again well until I got back for a concert or something. Lamar has its cons but in all, Lamar is a great school. 70% of the teachers will do more than required to make sure you succeed, the other 30% do nothing but expect you to understand things they didn't teach. “Derek is an excellent guitar teacher. He has a passion for guitar and a passion for teaching and helping others find joy in playing too. He is kind, patient, and encouraging but also sets good expectations for his students. Our son and daughter, 13 and 11, started lessons with Derek 7 weeks ago. We make sure they practice daily and Derek takes care of the rest. We are thrilled with how quickly they are learning and how good they sound. They each learned a full song by the end of 5 or 6 weeks. As a parent, it's awesome to watch your children gain confidence as they see expert teaching and practice produce rewarding results. We are grateful to have found Derek!”

“Music By Ross is Amazing! We purchased a guitar for our daughter Hannah. Hannah has Cystic Fibrosis and is very very shy. Kellen and his team have done a great job working with Hannah teaching her how to play guitar. We have worked with two of Kellen's instructors. Collin and Brandon have done a great job with her, bringing her out of her shell, and helping Hannah produce some truly beautiful music. I am so proud of Hannah. Collin and Brandon have done such a great job teaching Hannah the basics, and then customizing their lessons to teach Hannah the music that she loves to listen to. Kellen's team has totally exceeded my expectations. We have already had 17 lessons, and have scheduled 8 more. Hannah is 13 years old and already could play in a band.
