“We visit the Hempstead area twice a year on vacation to operate our fireworks stand. Our first stop in town is to Arlan's for supplies. A wonderful little home-town grocery, Arlan's has a good selection of produce, pantry items, paper goods and frozen foods. But what really stands out is their meat specials. I always find good low prices on top quality meats while we are in town. A large parking area and convenient location makes Arlan's a wonderful place for quick in and out trips as well as those dreaded extended-stay engagements. The staff is helpful and friendly and we are greeted each season by the same smiling faces. Problems are solved without hassle and customer service is wonderful. We look forward to visiting Arlan's every season and would highly recommend this little grocery to local residents and travelers alike. Thanks to Arlan's for making us feel welcome each and every time we hit town.”

“Stumbled across this very small store while I was just driving around. It takes you back a few years to when the Mom and Pop neighborhood convenience stores existed. Inside, there's a freezer case with some unusual contents for a small neighborhood grocer...different kinds of homemade Gumbo are what caught my eye. The prices are a little steep but when you get it home, you won't be disappointed. The roux is a little lighter than I like my seafood gumbo but the flavor is spot on and it definitely is NOT lacking in content. Blue crab, snow crab, shrimp, scallops...it was delicious and I'll definitely go back for more...The best I've had outside of Houston. WHAT A LUCKY FIND! ”

“We test drive a 2014 Ford Focus. Very clean car, and looked brand new. They have an auto mechanic shop and go over the cars real good before they out front to sell. The gentleman who helped us was awesome, and he took his time with my daughter. She is 19 and this was her first test drive, and first time buying a car. I would definitely recommend them.”

“Craig is good people. I left a similar review on Facebook. I had a tire blow out on my way from Houston to Austin, and by some fortune I pulled over in front of Craig’s shop. It was 7:00 on a Sunday evening. He just happened to be outside and came out to see if he could help. And long story short, we couldn’t get my spare tire to work, so Craig just up and gave me a used tire he had laying around and did all the work himself (I’ve never changed a tire before). When I asked him how much I owed him, he said “ Nothing. I’m just glad to help you get back on the road. God put me here for a reason. You travel safe now.” And I drove away thinking about how I was going to tell people about this kind hearted man who helped me out in a tight spot without asking for anything in return. I’ve never bought a car from here, but I can definitely say that Craig is a good human being, and I hope the best for him and his family. Thanks again Craig!”
