“I had a herniated disc in my lower back in March of this year and had progressively worse back pain. As I was on Medicare I had to follow a serious of steps before they would allow me to see a surgeon and as my pain became intolerable I looked outside of the Medicare system for a surgeon that's experienced in working on back problems. It was by accident that we found Dr Valente and at our first meeting he spent over an hour going through what was wrong with my back. My son is a surgeon so he primed us as to how to assess the skill and ability of a specialist. Dr Valente not only exceeded our expectations but his "bedside manner" is second to none and he is obviously very confident in what he does. It was an absolute pleasure working with him and he reacted very quickly in getting me into surgery. It is now over four months since I had surgery and I cannot believe how well I have recovered. The number one reason to use Dr Valente is that he does nothing but back surgeries every week and is very upfront with what is wrong with your back, and very honest with what he thinks he can do. If, as in my case , there are unforeseen problems during the operation which do not show up on the MRI scans, he has the skill and experience to be able to work around these problems. Would I use Dr Valente in the future? Absolutely.”
