“The food here is really lovely. It was a bit loud the night we were there as there was a large group celebration. We had an excellent waitress who was very helpful as I needed to find the dishes that were gluten free on the menu. She also would warn me about other dishes on the table of they were not gluten free. The meals we had were very tasty and well prepared. The serving sizes were generous. “This place honestly took me by surprise. I just saw it on a google search and thought why not try. It’s a cute little establishment that has a vintage vibe to it. The staff are friendly and don’t mind questions. I like being able to order things individually at a reasonable price. The food was pretty good, it’s not coated in grease and has more flavor than similarly priced fast food chains. They have a signature sauce that’s different, but appreciated. “For a Saturday night, this place was surprisingly quiet. It felt like a hidden gem in the heart of Frisco—beautifully decorated, welcoming, and intimate. Our server was kind and attentive, and he made several solid recommendations, including from the dessert menu after dinner. To start, we had the bacon and eggs (deviled eggs) and the lobster jar. Both were delectable! I don’t think any restaurants serve deviled eggs with the balance of sweet and savory that I prefer and make, but the million dollar bacon helps to make up for the lack of sweet in the egg filling. The lobster was perfectly cooked—velvety and buttery, with a hint spice—and it was paired with the perfect bread. For dinner, we had the carbonara pasta and the salmon, both of which were pretty good. My only issue with the salmon was that the menu description mentioned it was cooked in a butter sauce and served over risotto—I subbed the avocado risotto for veggie risotto per our server’s suggestion—but the salmon was so HEAVILY drizzled with some kind of balsamic sauce, that it overpowered an otherwise solid dish. Next time I would order the same thing and ask that they hold the sauce. If they are committed to keeping this sauce, they should avoid the zebra-like design and do a very LIGHT drizzle, and it would be great! Finally, we got a slice of red velvet and a slice of caramel coconut pecan cake to go. I’m not big on sweets but both cakes had the most amazing flavors—superb, really! Overall, it was a nice and unexpected experience, and I appreciate their willingness to accommodate most any substitution. We will definitely come back, though I do agree with some others that the pricing does not match the experience.”

“Updated: We tried this place again, twice in November 27, we tried their snack pak, I had a catfish sandwich, fries and a drink for $9.99. My husband tried their fried pork chop sandwich, fries and a drink for the same price. Everything was good, the tarter sauce was different. The batter on the catfish was a cornmeal and nicely crusted and stayed on the fish. The pork chop was a flour base batter and had a great flavor. The French fries were hand cut fries. In December 4, we went with church members, I had the liver and onions on the menu. I wished there were more onions and sliced thinly to eat. My husband tried one of their potatoes. Dot & Mel came in and offered fried green tomatoes, which were great! My husband, granddaughter and I finally visited this place after church. We ordered turkey and dressing for $13.99, then additional sides for $2.99 each. We were offered cranberry or gravy. The food was very good, you could tell it was homemade! My husband had greens and green beans, which he said were very good. I had mashed potatoes (very creamy and more on the runny side) and macaroni & cheese ( very cheesy and just plain good & gooey). Normally when we go to other places and order turkey and dressing, we get sliced turkey, dressing, gravy and fixings. But here you had your choice of a turkey leg or wing, these pieces were on steroids, lol, huge. They looked like they were cooked on a grill. A piece of cornbread rounded off the plate, very moist with some sweetness. Customer service was fantastic, several different employees coming by to make sure everything was okay. They even offered an ice pop with permission to our granddaughter. And of course, we needed boxes for our leftovers; which by the way tasted great later. Need to mention it is served like cafeteria style, menu is handwritten on eraser boards. Take your time reading because there are some great choices. We will be back to try something different.”
