“Read about this spot on a FaceBook page that spoke highly about it. We drove down to the beach for a small family vacation and swung by on our way back home. Great ambiance inside, love the 1940’s, 1950-60-70’s high school sports photos. Our food took a little longer than we would’ve liked as we we were just trying to pass by, eat and go. The food quality most definitely made the wait worth while. Plus a triple stack hamburger for under $10 is unheard of with this wild economy. Our waitress was very communicative and even brought my little baby girl complimentary sweet potato fries. Highly recommended.”

“Y daughter had a breakfast taquito of huevito con papas with flour tortilla, very big (had a good amount of filling). I had a Tejano dinner plate that had rice, refried beans, some guisado and Tex-mex enchiladas and a lot of aguacate 🥑 yummy 😋🤤. Guisado was delicious, rice and beans were good the enchiladas are the reason it's not a 5 star for me, they're Tex-mex, I don't care for them. I wish they would explain or show a picture of the enchiladas so people can be aware. Other than that, food and tortillas were delicious, cheap prices. Will be back whenever I'm in town.”

“If you are looking for a top BBQ spot....this is the spot for you.The food was really delicious, and you know the ribs are on point when they just fall off the bone. The staff was very helpful, friendly, and patient, this was our first time and I gotta say, I was not disappointed. The only downside was they didn't have any brownies or cookies ready, but thay gives me a good reason to come back. Thank you for the awesome service, and we will be back.”

“One of the best Mexican restaurants I have ever been to! The place has a nice atmosphere and there is a great little bar in a separate room. Everything was clean and neat. The staff was super friendly and we had great service. The salsa was delicious and the chips were fresh and warm. We ordered a frozen watermelon margarita and it was a nice change. We also ordered the special which was a chicken quesadilla served with rice, beans and guacamole salad. It was amazing! Everything was full of flavor and seasoned perfectly. This place is very affordable and we will definitely be back to try more things on their menu. I noticed there was a breakfast menu also that is available on weekends.”

I had the number 22 (out of about 56 offerings) which was beef fajitas and this stellar smoked sausage peppers and onions and tomatoes. also pictured the Big Gordita platter with pulled chicken. everything was really good, plenty of food and great tasting. “Very delicious pizza and nicely crisp wings. Wings took a little while and came out after pizza. Wish we had them as an appetizer but they do take a bit longer to cook. Still well worth it. Service was great. Sadie was pleasant and attentive. Only complaint is the ranch. It sucked. Didn’t taste homemade and was creamy not buttermilk ranchy. I’ll just bring mine next time. “This is a small hidden gem, in a small town on our route back home. We fell upon this place randomly 2 years ago, and it was probably the best food we had in a long time. Fast forward 2 years later, we plan a route to stop at this specific restaurant and it is still every bit as good as we remembered. Food is sooo good, staff is so kind and attentive, atmosphere is home like. Could use a few repairs on the inside, but in the economy we're in right now, we need to have grace. Good customer service means way more and they had it. Don't forget to try the lemonade!! 🍋”

“Absolutely amazing. Second to none A must try if you love tacos. TLDR version It is the most authentic family run taqueria experience I have had in Texas in a long time. Walked in and it smelled like my Abuela's house. The brightly colored plywood, hand written menu, and beautiful family art/aesthetics presents the Mendez family's amazing taqueria. The Barbacoa Tacos were phenomenal and probably one of the best I have ever had. Handmade tortillas, the meat is not to greasy or dry. Soft tender meat that isn't mealy or tired, but has soft melt in your mouth feel. I sincerely appreciate barbacoa that isn't a greasy disaster. The green salsa that's comes with it, is a pleasantly spicy but not overwhelming salsa. Got a few other tacos staples like the chorizo and egg and their Mendez special. The Mendez special is definitely for the Taco heads who like that greasy messy hangover taco. Packed with spam, potatoes, cheese and all things breakfast, it shines through your soul. Literally it glistens in the right lighting. The other items we had a chance to try were amazing. This is our new spot everytime we come through the area and I highly recommend it as a destination taco place for any taco aficionado.”

But this location in particular provided outstanding service every morning on a recent and very hard trip to the area.
