“The pond and flora are very pretty. But because the trail around the pond is only a half mile, you have to walk around it several times to get any kind of a workout. The view from the dam is best. Half of the trail is paved and the other half is a natural surface. The side trail that connects to the Cross County Trail is unmarked and very rugged. It's a 10 minute walk from Brookfield Pond to the portion of the Cross County trail north of the Bryon Avenue park, but be advised that the terrain is difficult to navigate and likely to be muddy.”
