“This park was a lot of fun and has a lot of fun and unique features. I love the musical instruments that kids can play with. The only problem is that the entire playground is designated for 5-12 years. Except for the baby swings, there is not much for a toddler to play on without giving her parents mild heart attacks.”

“There is two multi-purpose turf fields for soccer, football, lacrosse, and field hockey. There is also a large grassy area in which you can let kids run around and enjoy themselves. In addition, there is a baseball area with fields and cages. You can visit for free, and can walk in the woods.”

“This part is down the street from my house. My husband and I came here to walk. Fairly flat walking paths, and it crosses over Turkeycock creek so there is running water. Lots of greenery and we even saw a deer. If you're looking for an easy stroll, this is a good spot.”

“Love this park. Nice fenced area, and tons of dog-smart people with plenty of dogs for my pups to socialize with. Also, awesome light hiking trails through the woods. My dogs insist on both & fuss at me on days we do not go!”

“Descend a moderately steep path towards the historical Holmes Run, which meanders through much of Fairfax County. Meadow, pine woods, and deciduous forest awaits. Climb to the top of one hill for a seat on a large boulder and a nice view. I personally have seen turtles, fish, deer, and beaver there.”

“This is a great little trail. It's easy to miss if you haven't been there before, but the secluded feeling makes the trail all the more peaceful. On our Sunday hike we came across several runners, bikers, and fellow hikers (some with dogs), so it's far from deserted, but certainly not what I would call busy. There are several ups and downs along the trail which make it more of a hike than a stroll. The views vary from tree canopy to rocky riverbed to serene ponds complete with frogs and turtles. It's a beautiful green space that will make you forget you're in the middle of Fairfax county. FYI there are several points where you cross Holmes Run itself. You can either walk through the running water (the crossings have a level concrete floor), or you can use concrete pilings which serve as stepping stones. The bikers didn't seem to have any problems crossing, but it may be difficult with a stroller.”
