Sunset Grill

Good meal, good service. Hamburger was good, but nothing really special to make it stand out. Have improved the interior since last visit several years ago.

Food and atmosphere were excellent! However, the server was frank, not friendly. Perhaps she was having a hard day, or believed that a mature woman with a young boy would not tip well. Sadly, her tip would have been more than generous if she had cracked a smile or a friendly word. I worked as a waitress for many years before becoming a nurse and am usually a quite generous tipper.
We love the Sunset Grill but will avoid the red headed waitress in the future.

At the end of West Broad Street, as it turns into Broad Street Road and begins its long journey to Ohio, there is the westernmost bar in Richmond. The Sunset Grill. A place where the farmers of Goochland rub elbows with the lawyers and accounts of Henrico. All around a well apportioned bar in the front, with white table cloth tables in the back. The bar is in and of itself a perfect metaphor for the area in which it is located.

Even better, it's actually a grill. The burger ordered on their Monday burger night had the grill marks and char you would expect. Even better they use Dukes Mayo. Only a truly self aware Richmond Bar offers Dukes, and it's a sign of quality. I went back a few weeks later for another happy hour special, the shrimp, and again enjoyed it immensely.

The staff were always great the ambiance of the bar area was electric. People come here for a good time, and they find it. Good food, good drinks. What more can you ask for?

We randomly stopped by here as we were near by. Friendly staff, if definitely go back for steaks. The prime rib was cooked perfectly.
