“Good food, good service, good vibes. I went for the first time with a women's group from church after we walked alongside the beach, we worked up an appetite and it did not disappoint. Get the lavender vanilla latte!!! Trust me you will be back from more. I also got the egg, cheese and sausage croissant as it came highly recommended and it was spot on. Price was reasonable for the area (~$15 per person with tip). The atmosphere was very relaxed and welcoming. They treat you like family but also professional. I appreciate that there was seating both inside and outside. I'm already planning my trip back!!!”

“What an amazing trip! Captain Robert and his wife were amazing and accommodating to our family. We booked last minute and Captain Robert made it work. We are in town visiting and our kids agree, the sunset sail was one of their favorite things they did this week! The Freedom is amazingly well kept and clean! We were able to help with the sales and our son got to steer it which he will always remember! We saw many naval ships as well as some dolphins. HIGHLY RECOMMEND a sailing with Captain Roberts! Thanks again for a great evening!”

“Before the pandemic, I did just the encasement. The Visitor's Center is new and is very well planned. You're encouraged to tour the Visitor's Center, given a sticker with the time of the next group self-tour that includes a scavenger hunt. All was education plus fun family activity.”

“As a tourist It was a fascinating experience. If you are interested in history and war monuments, this is something you should not miss. This old army base is now boasted off with beautiful colonial style houses and magnolia trees.”

“The casement has so much history which you can see and feel. Every time I have visited Ft. Monroe, I have experienced dolphin sightings; even this weekend. The open space is relaxing. The fishing piers and the smell of fish is something you have to accept because people seem to be very lucky. ENJOY!!”

“Nice quiet (small) campground. No activies or pool but there is a beach across the street and right down the street is a old fort. I recommend it if you like quiet little places to stay.”

“This was a really cool fort to check out if you are in the area. There is plenty of space to wander, old areas to check out and a beach area to relax on.”

“The work was done as explained and within the timeframe estimated. They were very professional and personable. I felt confident and comfortable with the task they took on. I would consult with them again for future projects. It is hard to find trustworthy people. I thank my lucky stars that Legendary Solutions solved my problem. Job well done. ?”

“We decided due to COVID we wanted to visit a low-key beach that wouldn’t have too many visitors so we decided on Fort Monroe and were told there is a beach club. We decided to check out the beach club this time... what a GEM!! It was $10 for adults and $5 for children over 3yrs.. we went on a Friday around 2pm and it was not crowded at all! It was family friendly and we had our 5year olds and 1 year old present. Our admission included use of the beach chairs and umbrellas. They had private beach front access, swimming pools, a full service restaurant with outdoor seating and a full bar, Tiki bar closer to the beach, corn hole toss, several beach volleyball courts, clean restrooms with a changing table for babies. The food was good and service was quick. You can order beach side with your waiter but the menu is limited on the beach front. However you can take a short walk to the restaurant to order from the full menu. An hour before we left a band set up on the stage and began to play great music. It was a great time and this will definitely be our go to spot when we come down to 757 for the beach. They also have cabanas for rent but there was plenty of seating when we visited so we didn’t bother inquiring. No out foot food/drinks allowed but you can bring unsealed bottles of water, empty stainless steel water containers. They do have a metal detector you walk thru and security at the entrance checking bags which was fine with me. SUGGESTION: I only have one suggestion and that is that the beach front could be raked or cleaned up a little better from seaweed and other small debris, especially since there is a cost to enter. We have visited fort monroe regular beach side the previous summer and the beach front was cleaner.”

“This is an amazing place filled with American history, especially the Civil War era. I love that the information available about the fort area also includes African American history and history of women at the site. I've lived in this area most of my life and never knew what a significant role Ft. Monroe played in our nation's past until I went there are learned from a park official. Be prepared to be sad - a lot of the historical buildings are in decline for lack of funding. :( I've heard that a huge celebration is planned in 2019, with lots of great programs focused on Ft. Monroe's background from many perspectives. The area also includes beaches, including Paradise Ocean Club and a great brewery. Truly a hidden gem for history buffs!”

“Here are some photos I have taken at the CHAMBERLIN. On Fort Monroe in Hampton, this historic hotel has been renovated into a gorgeous senior independent living community. I have the pleasure of working there as the Bistro Chef, where the residents enjoy great food and breathtaking views of the Chesapeake bay. Open to the public for dining, lunch and dinner, reservations highly recommended.”
