“Easy to get to, well organized tubing operation. Vests could be better cared for. Tubes and transportation to the river are fine. A downside is the many drunk people (despite the waiver saying alcohol is not allowed on the river, although their antics on the river do provide entertainment as you float along. Website is not always updated with the latest weather/river conditions, so you may not be able to tube where you want when you get there.”

“We stayed here for a weekend this December for our friends wedding. It was absolutely amazing! Breakfast was so good, there was so much food! The entire family there is so kind and helpful. Our friends planned their wedding there. They offered a wedding planner and everything. Our wedding planner Jennie was absolutely awesome. She was on top of everything, always had a pep in her step and asked if any of us needed anything. Zion Springs made planning a wedding less stressful for the bride and groom. If you have the money and are looking for a memorable time, definitely come here!”

Oakland Green Bed & Breakfast

Address: 19192 Oakland Green Rd, Leesburg, VA 20175, USA

Lodging

“This was a wonderful place to take some time to relax in an interesting setting. The log cabin is 300 years old, and there are antiques all over the place. There is central heat and air installed, and renovated bathrooms. So you get rustic charm with the amenities of modern life. The farm is very conveniently located only about 15 minutes south of Rt 7, near Purcellville, and yet feels very much like it is in the middle of nowhere. The illusion is so complete that it was rather jarring to so quickly return to the modern world. We went there for my wife's birthday, and for a chance to spend some quiet time together. It was ideal. The breakfast was also great. Bed and breakfasts seem to be of 2 general varieties, the ones run as a business that feel like a specialized hotel, and those where it is a hobby and chance to socialize for the hosts. Either can be great, depending on what you are looking for. Oakland Green seems to be the former. The host makes herself available when needed, but is generally interested in letting you do your thing while she does hers.”

Loudoun Valley Manor

Address: 38594 Old Wheatland Rd, Waterford, VA 20197, USA

Lodging

“My friends and I (20 ladies) rented the entire B & B for a long weekend celebration. The manor was very spacious so we never felt overcrowded. Our winery destinations were within a few miles of the manor, one of which, the Wine Reserve, was right across the lawn, and that winery offered BOGO for residence of the manor. The manor’s owner, Olga, is very welcoming. She allowed us to bring our own food, beverages and snacks. We were also able to use the outside patio area for grilling and to set up our seafood fest. The manor and grounds were clean and well-maintained. I would highly recommended the manor for any occasion - couples, girls weekend, wedding party or even if you just need to get away by yourself.”

“Absolutely charming! This is a perfect weekend getaway for some R&R. The location is perfect. I like that the cottage B&B is separate from the main house which gave us as much privacy as we wanted. Swimming in the pool was an added morning bonus. It is close to area wineries, breweries, restaurants, farms- there is even a farm stand right across from them where we picked up fresh vegetables and locally grown flowers. We will be back!”

I cannot say enough about their effort to make sure the day ran smoothly and that our guests were taken care of. Their attention to detail was spot on. From our first planning meeting to the day of the event, they worked with us to ensure a perfect day. I highly recommend Stone Gables as a venue, and I’m looking forward to returning as a guest of the B&B.”

Blue Hill Farm B&B

Address: 15957 Clarkes Gap Rd, Waterford, VA 20197, USA

Lodging

“We got married at Blue Hill Farm in late September 2018 and our friends and family are still raving about how beautiful this venue is! Shirley and Waldo made us feel right at home and it made such a difference to be able to stay in their home for the entire weekend. The girls all got ready upstairs in the two bedrooms connected by a large bathroom with natural sunlight. We had our ceremony in the front yard overlooking the fall scenery and used the carriage house for our reception which fit 90 people comfortably for dinner and the lights around the yard and pool were perfect. Waldo even made a fire for the guests to enjoy! The bridal party absolutely loved the two pups and they were a part of some of our group shots :) Everything was absolutely beautiful and I can't thank Shirley and Waldo enough for helping us put together our dream day!”

The Manor at Courtland Farm

Address: 40543 Courtland Farm Ln, Aldie, VA 20105, USA

Lodging

“I swore off chain hotels years ago and have stayed almost exclusively at B&B's since 2009. Of the 25+ bed and breakfast's I've enjoyed over the past decade, The Manor at Courtland Farm is my definitive new favorite. I was lucky to come across this hidden gem while looking on a vacation-by-owner website. I booked at the last minute for a next day stay at the cottage (which is spacious and cozy), and early the next morning I received a call from Jean to confirm my stay and ensuring I had all the information I needed. The responsiveness was extremely impressive. As for my stay, you will want for absolutely nothing here. The entire staff was warm, welcoming, and gracious in their accommodation of my requests. The main manor house is over 15,000 square feet, inclusive of sitting areas, lounges, media rooms, a game room and a delightful array of hidden nooks to explore. You truly can't surpass the quality of the food either - the breakfast was picture perfect and delicious to the last bite. What most impressed me most was how "at home" I felt in this luxury accommodation. It is classy, not pretentious in it's decor; inviting and warm, though clearly modern and connected; and above all, I truly felt a welcomed and desired guest. That, no matter how beautiful a place, is rare and is precisely what will draw me back regularly for many years to come!”
