San Marcos Mexican Restaurant

San Marcos in Chatham VA, is a pretty good place to get mexican food. My son really likes their Chimichanga's, so I treated him to lunch today while in the area. Their salsa is pretty standard fare, it is tasty and fairly mild. It is a puree with no veggies. I do like the fact that each person gets their own small bowl of salsa, no dealing with "double dippers" here. They do offer a lunch menu, which I ordered off of, I chose the 1/2 Chimi plate that comes with one chimichanga filled with chicken or hamburger, and your choice of rice or beans.
My son ordered the Shredded chicken chimi's off the regular menu which included 2 Chimi's, and your choice of rice or beans. The portions are a little on the small side.
The atmosphere is cute, not over the top, but decent, and inviting. The service is good, and your food arrives quickly. Our total luncheon bill for 2 plates, and 2 diet soda's was $33.98 before tip.

YOU NEED TO EAT HERE! Food is excellent (I only got this one photo of the corn because I devoured everything else 😁) very clean, very friendly staff and very fast!!

Had the enchiladas supremas, they where really good. The server was great, he brought me more salsa and refills before I even ran out. Would absolutely come again. Their Horchata is very good too.

The staff there are so nice and friendly. They made sure we got everything. I just dont like the food much. Maybe I’m not into Mexican food. Restrooms are clean.
