This might be a neighborhood bar and grill but the food is great! Fresh seafood that won't break the bank like the Tuna bites is our favorite! From tacos to fresh-cut fries there is definitely something for everyone here. They are also open for breakfast on the weekend. Definitely one to try if your in the area.
Good food..local bar atmosphere, everyone is very welcoming. Chef is very good, he cooks everything as ordered, solo...so if it's busy you'll have a wait. Most people are having cocktails,so you won't notice the wait.
I feel I was really undersold and over delivered on the Bluemont Black N Blue Burger with fries, so let's get started. Simple trifold menu with your go-to items not missing beat I settled on an old favorite and boy I was in for a ride. Came to by table in your standard mom and pop basket with burger warmly nestled beside a perfect golden brown french fries that will not only ASMC crunch for feels into oblivion, but it also has the follow through with every bite not getting soggy from steam or overly greasy. Back on track to the thick delicious circumference of meat before me I take my first bite and was amazed on the levels of juicy tender morsels hitting my pallet. The blue cheese really shined through without overpowering the rest of the ingredients, I really have to hand it to the cook...best burger I've had in a while, so thank you. You'd be missing out if you didn't wipe up the falling juices on your fries as well, I found myself eating the whole thing and was fully satisfied.
04JAN22 ~ I had a wonderful dining experience with my oldest brother, this is his favorite 'go to' restaurant. This hidden gem in the Kempsville area is locally & family owned. It has a friendly, non-pretentious atmosphere. We went there for the Tuesday night 'Shrimp Special'. It was great. The shrimp were plentiful, large, tasty, and perfectly cooked. It comes with melted butter for dipping & cocktail sauce. The hush puppies & Cole slaw were also excellent. Our waitress, Stefanie, was everything I would want in a waitress. She was genuinely friendly with a warm smile, she was articulate/well spoken, helpful, and came by at just the right times, not too much & not too little. The prices were exceptionally reasonable. Whenever I go to visit my family in Virginia Beach we always eat there at least once per visit.
