An amazing place for hikes. It's a slightly challenging hike and there are multiple paths. It has a beautiful view from the top. The top is also the takeoff point for paragliding.
Snow free trail with good views of the paragliding. There is a gun range right at the start of the trail which is weird (especially because it is so close to the middle school 🤷♂️). Would recommend doing the hike from the high school.
Nice hike. Took me 50 min up and 25 min down, but I was fast and didn't take breaks. Cool view from the top. Haven't seen Rainier, so will be back!
This is a very popular and busy trail, let's start with that!
The trail is very well maintained, and has great signage.
In the shoulder season as you move from Winter to spring it can be a little muddy so be prepared for that.
There are restrooms at the top.
The views are really awesome of the city and Lake Sammamish.
Tons of paragliders also use this as a takeoff spot so that can be quite entertaining as well.
I personally will start very early to avoid the crowds.
Have fun!
ELEVATION my God the elevation was tough. I was pranked being told this hike was "justa half mile".... yeah a half mile straight up!
Had a great time, and next time I'd bring better shoes for the rocky areas. It can be a little slick so watch out. Overall it's a moderate hike and I'd go again.
