Lots of parking with good disabled access, park benches every 500 or so feet make it a great option for kids and elderly. The view is excellent and kiddos had a lot of fun pointing out all the different boats and people.
Trash cans can get pretty full and the dog bag stations are perpetually empty but if you are prepared then it's a great space to picnic or walk a dog.
We took a drive towards Lake Washington after an appointment at Harborview and eventually discovered this gem of a park! We came across this fun park during lunchtime and there were many people enjoying the hot sunny day. There were several people swimming and we counted a total of 5 lifeguards, so that was nice. In years past we lived in the Bellevue area and if we had known about this wonderful beach, we would have come and had some fun beach days!
Nice place for a swim / to cool off. Be aware that sometimes lifeguards are on duty and they love their rules. The funny thing is, when they go off duty people just go back in and do whatever they want (as it should be). Great place to launch kayak or SUP. Only complaint is the beach is sort of dirt vs sand / stones, but there is some grass to be found, especially to the north. Also, eastern exposure, so not a ton of sun late in the day
Beautiful green area overlooking the lake. Peaceful environment, has toilets and a few BBQ areas for people to use. There are also two floating diving platforms. Great spot for a relaxing day.
A thickly forested steep trail filled with the groves of evergreens and ferns that I so associate with Washington State slopes down to a long stretch of Green lawn that leads to Lake washington, with Bellevue's skyline across the sea. As Bellevue continues to grow and its buildings climb toward the sky, this view becomes more impressive, but the glassy softly rippling water of Lake Washington is always delightful. When I came here, soft raindrops from the typical Seattle drizzle were splashing into the lake and creating these soft circular ripples. There is a great mossy tree with heavy arcing boughs under which I took shelter and watched the pattering rain. After crossing Seattle west to east on foot to arrive here from downtown, the gentle and scenic terrain of this park was a nice reward.
