“We came to google searching for a church for our growing family and found Eastside. 6 years later we are still here! Eastside has been a home and a shelter during the craziness over the pandemic and the aftermath. We have found a home based and focused on Jesus, led with love by the very humble and caring pastors: Russ and Ana. Tracy is the current and best pastor my kids have ever had! She personally knows and cares for them and her program and ministry is curated to really teach our kids in the ways of the Lord! The World Cafe on site not only serves up delicious drinks, you are also warmly welcomed each morning by Danielle who currently runs it. She always gifts a drink to newcomers ☺️👍🏽 If you aren’t convinced yet…. They use all of their profits (including tips) for missions! The love for their community is felt the minute you walk in! The greaters are authentic, the room reflects the growing diversity in Bothell, and the pastor always focus on unity and inclusion for everyone. For example, during the service they offer LIVE Spanish interpretation for our Latinx community. And just this past February we enjoyed a wonderful Black History month full of fellowship. Come check out Eastside! And find me after service ☺️👍🏽”

“Great experience. Welcoming, inclusive, friendly. Second service has many families with children. The teen group is very active. The Episcopal Church does not exclude anyone and Saint George definitely resonates with inclusivity.”

“When our son was getting married we needed a venue. Pastor Jerome, his wife Tammy and many of the ladies reached out to us throughout the whole process. I have attended church since I was a small child. This group of people showed us so much love. We decided to make a change. No where in this city (coming from a rural area) had we ever been loved so much. We have been there now over 18 months and have made our home with them.”

“Epiphany is a wonderful place to learn as much theology as you’d like, feel the warmth of fellowship with an active, thinking group of people, and grow your children in a fun, happy and compassionate place for young people to learn about God’s love for each and every person.”

“The Orchards has been such a loving environment for both of our boys. Our toddler loves his teachers, classmates, and school and loves telling us about his day at school. I struggled with having to leave our infant at childcare when my maternity leave ended but it is clear the staff loves him and cares for him which makes it easier for me. Couldn’t imagine our boys going anywhere else. We love the school.”

“The name is accurate. I have been to many churches all over the US and this is the first church I have felt at home with. The people are real and authentic. This is a place where you can not only learn about God but also build a lasting network of real people who love Jesus. I highly recommend this church to anyone, especially those who have had bad experiences with church in the past. This is a place you will want to call home.”

“This place is soo amazing only because of the people and the Spirit in them. It literally 👏🏻always👏🏻feels👏🏻like👏🏻family👏🏻 I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. The word is very anointed and labored for by the preachers. There is a lot more growth to be happening in the next few years at this church. There is something real happening here. My fav part is the Tuesday night prayers where Gods presence is literally felt”

“Saltwater Unitarian Universalist Church is unique. If you're looking for an open-minded, open-armed, welcoming church, this is the place for you. During the pandemic, the church closed its doors and offered remote services not just for the congregation, but also for other Unitarian Churches in the region who weren't as technologically advanced, or that didn't have the equipment to do such things. As things have opened back up, they continue to hold remote services, while keeping small in-person services on Sunday mornings. The church sanctuary is beautiful, with a large full wall window behind the pulpit that allows viewing of the trees that eventually lead into Saltwater State Park. The music director is fabulous and energetic. The minister is kind, thoughtful, and very approachable. The pianist is extremely accomplished and listening to him play is always a treat. The church also provides a program for children and youth that is thoughtful and dovetails nicely with the sermon of the day, without being preachy or indoctrinating. It's a great place for children to develop friendships. There are other programs offered by the church like adult religious education classes, book groups, small group ministry, a caring committee, and various other opportunities to meet others while engaging in things that inspire you - from crafting, to social justice, to coming together for movies or games. The church grounds, apart from being gorgeous and having a maintained trail down to the Saltwater State Park, also sports a full sized labyrinth out front near the memorial garden. People, not just congregants, are encouraged to walk the labyrinth. Disclaimer - I have a been a member for some time now and I'm trying to be as open and honest as possible in my review. The church, like most other organizations, is imperfect, and has had periods of growing pains. However, that being said, I do not hesitate to recommend Saltwater UU church if you are in the market to find a liberal religious community. The long term members have always been welcoming to new members and they genuinely make the place feel like home for ones spirit.”
