“Our New Year's Eve reservation at Chef Shack was our first time at the restaurant, and not the last. Bay City is a humble blink-and-you'll-miss-it kind of town, so it's easy to find the restaurant. Parking was abundant. Upon entering, we found a cozy but not claustrophobic or loud environment. After waiting a few minutes, we were seated at a table for two with a view of the nearby fireplace. Service was impeccable. Every course was spaced out with precision so that we never felt rushed. NYE was a special event, $125 per person for couples and larger groups. The meal included two glasses of wine, a white from the central California coast and a dry red from New Zealand (if I correctly recall). There were also cocktails available for additional cost. There were four main courses offered, the choice taken by our server just after we were seated: veggie curry, steak, venison, or seafood bouillabaisse. Lisa Carlson of Chef Shack and Chef Nettie Colon were partnered for this night. The first course was a chickpea puff that was like a seasoned cloud. My husband doesn't like chickpeas but even he loved this. The next course was an empanada made by Chef Nettie Colon. Wow. No doubt, the best empanada I've had in my life. The salad was next, and what is usually a mundane side was elevated to delicious artwork. The main courses were next; my husband had the steak, while I had the venison. Both meats were delicious, but I must say, I'm glad I chose the venison because it was something special. I believe it had a cherry reduction on it, and the fruity sweetness added so much to the meat. After that came the dessert. We were each given a house-made scoop of ice cream to enjoy along with four chocolate and vanilla tartlets and a single slice of Benedictine cake to share. Everything was extraordinary. Something I truly appreciate about the meal was the perfect amount of food. We didn't leave feeling sickeningly full, but were 100% satiated. Chef Shack is truly a treasure tucked away in rural Wisconsin. I look forward to visiting again when they reopen in spring!”

“Went here with my mom for lunch. Got two burgers and a combo appetizer with fries, mushrooms and cheese curds. The appetizers were awesome and cheese curds had just enough breading to make them fry (not all breading like some places). The mushrooms taste like the Hager drive-in's (which we love). Burgers were good but be sure to request your preference of done-ness as we weren't asked our preference and they were well-done (but still good). We'll be back again if we're out this way for lunch! “I love this place! I have family in Prescott and this is our favorite place to eat as a group. There is an emphasis on sports and alcohol but hey, it’s Wisconsin and a lot of bar and grill places have a similar atmosphere. It can take some time to get your food sometimes but it’s worth it, it’s usually a very busy place as it’s popular with locals and some people from the east metro too.”

“This place is deceiving from the front. Walk inside and it's a really cool vibe; step outside on their back patio, and it's pretty shocking at how massive and beautiful it is!! Multiple tiers of outdoor deck seating with amazing views of the river. Bands play outside which gives it even better atmosphere. Staff is very attentive and friendly, food is absolutely amazing! In their outdoor area, they grow their own herbs for their food and drinks. They make an excellent mojito, multiple different flavor options, and of course original too. This is a stop we make every time either on the way to, or the way home from Treasure Island casino. If you're not from Wisconsin, don't forget to stop around the corner at the liquor store and grab some Spotted Cow before you leave ;)”

“I go to this gas station every morning, not because I dont have other options, but because of a certain employee that works at this location. Almost every morning I am greeted by Scott. Scott and I were strangers a few years ago, but now, SCOTT IS THE REASON I GO TO THIS GAS STATION!!!! he goes above and beyond, knows almost everyone on a first name basis (locals and non locals) and is always busy trying to make sure everyone gets what's they came in looking for. And if it's not on the shelf, he goes in back and looks for it. And I feel it is so important to write this review because so many customer service employees go unnoticed and unappreciated... and customer service isn't for the weak (speaking from experience). I hope holiday realizes how lucky they are having him. He truly is an asset to your company Holiday.”
