“What a wonderful stay! Room was clean and had everything we needed. Ben was very kind and even dropped off some chocolate treats for us. Great location as you can walk to town for food and drinks and there are two great establishments right next door too. We would definitely return if in the area again! Highly recommend Indianhead supper club and Top spot sports bar in town. Both had great food and good service. We didn’t get a chance to go to Vivs, but everyone recommended it to us.”

“When first pulling up I was confused and on first impression this place was nothing I would have expected......looks wise. We pulled in anyways to see what the deal was, here's how it ended..... For only $50 my boyfriend and I had a wonderful stay in a cabin, that although rustic in design, was pretty fully loaded (fridge, oven, stove, microwave, coffee maker, fold out dining table, chairs, full size sofa, queen bed I believe, rotating fan, etc). This place is right on a lake, boats and pontoons and other water toys for rent for extremely cheap. It was minutes ride from Cattail ATV trail and tons of other lakes. I can't say enough positive things about the amenities, the people, our whole experience. We will go back, for the prices they charge you get beyond your money's worth.”

“Brought my Daughter and grandkids for a night. My grandparents had a cabin on Balsam Lake, so as a child I spent many summers here. Lodge is very pretty, our room was awesome. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. We had dinner in the restaurant. Food was good. It was a bit slow coming out but we used the time to enjoy each other's company and play games instead of complaining. If more people looked at things that way and exhibited a bit more patience there would be no need for negative reviews. We had a great time here.”

“The front entrance was super cute with stuffed wildlife. Instantly loved the environment. I had room 220 on the second floor and I was pleased with how quiet it was. The parking lot was full and when I woke up, there were no cars in the lot and I hadn't heard any commotion in or outside. I booked my room two days in advance for a fair price of $107. Cheapest one around with a huge event going on. Only mild complaint was there was some trash under the beds and some flies on the ceiling but the room was clean and the sheets smelled good so I honestly didn't mind. I had a better experience at this motel than I did with most name brand hotels.”

“The campground very well taken care of. Very clean bathrooms, I saw them at the worst, totally different when I was there last. Golfing right down the road, fishing and swimming. I gave a 4 star, would love showers on site, peaceful, small campground. I highly recommend camping there.”

“Our family made a trip to Big Rock last night and I have to say that it was truly a magical evening! We were so impressed at how organized this event was. An added plus was the free parking. The lines for food/beverages were short and moved fast. There were lots and lots of fire pits available as well as restrooms. The winter market was so fun with some really unique vendors. We would definitely go back. If you haven’t visited Big Rock yet, you need to add it to your bucket list!!!!”

“This is a great place to stay. Spotlessly clean, in a very quiet and peaceful location. We would like to mention that every detail and every corner of the interiors and exteriors are built with love and perfect taste. The host is very nice with a gentle character of hospitality. This may have been the first time we stayed here, it certainly won't be the last!”

“Pond View Lodge is a wonderful place to stay for all ages! The owner, Ann, made coordinating and planning a weekend at the Lodge so easy - she was punctual with responses and was happy to answer any questions that came up. She provided extremely comprehensive, helpful information throughout the planning process. The Lodge is spacious, with a full kitchen - perfect for whipping up some delicious home-cooked meals. The animals who call the Lodge home are adorable and you're able to interact/feed them snacks, just like a personal petting zoo. Highly recommend for a fun week/end get-away!”

“Northern Detour (formerly Poplar Point) is a terrific place, if you're able to spend the summer season in an RV or are looking for a place for a month. It's quiet and peaceful here right on the little Poplar lake. Park owners are also wonderful neighbors from St. Croix Falls. It's a small jewel near the St. Croix river.”

“I would like to grab attention to below review, Since I was the witnessed the lady was shouting as like hell where me and my wife was having breakfast. It was human error but I think the lady was trying to get compensation over small issue. Our stay was good and we would like to be here as quite place. We being coming here since 15 years and the staff are nice all the time as well this place is old but its very clean like home and price wise its very affordable. Since we move out of this town we used to come for pool and today its in the same manner clean and upgraded. Since I never write reviews for any business but this was not fair and I wrote it.”

“If you are looking for a family friendly campground, I highly recommend Skonewood. I like it that the playground with wide open grass area for sports are available right on sight so it's easy to keep your eyes on the kids. Each stall came with running water and electricity which is a HUGE plus!! The swimming area was great for kids. The float mat was their favorite!! Lots of sunnies if you're looking to fish but not much more than a bunch of sunnies. Once in a while you'll see a few bass come by but that's about it. This was our second time here and would definitely come back again in the future.”

“My wife and I took our first trip away from home since our son was born - We were so lucky to find this place. The bed was comfy, the room was cozy, and the breakfast was delicious. It was also our first B&B experience and we were very happy with our choice. Richard and Charlene are very hospitable and you feel very welcomed in their home. We will definitely visit again.”
