“My children, who live in Canada, ordered a plant (through Teleflora who, I believe, charges quite a bit for this service and farms the orders out to the local florists) for my birthday and Mother’s Day, which are a week apart. Doug did not have the requested plant but he did send an absolutely beautiful bouquet of blue Hydrangeas and White Roses. When I thanked my children they said “bouquet? We wanted a plant.” I phoned Doug to ask what had happened and he explained that he’d had to do a substitution. He then said to call in a week and he should have some plants in (Mother’s Day emptied out the inventory of any florist who was open). I wasn’t angry that he’d had to substitute and had already decided I wouldn’t call back as he had provided a beautiful bouquet, for which he had been compensated. I felt that also supplying a plant would mean he was getting a loss on my children’s order. To my surprise, he showed up two days later with a beautiful hydrangea, which I have since planted in my garden. Doug went above and beyond what he needed to do! I was so impressed! “First, my son, wife and I really enjoy coming here and picking apples together. It's a great way to have fun and bond. The bags cost $18.95, so that is what I based the entrance fee on. But there is no fee to enter that I'm aware of. They have some other activities too, but more for little kids. There is also a tractor ride that goes around the orchard. It is a great way to have a fun day. Try to get there early in the season though. Otherwise you're having to pick from the tops of the trees.”
