“The Lakes family has always done a good job with preparing funerals that I have attended. I have known them for decades and they are always professional, kind and helpful when the time comes to put loved ones to rest. I have read other reviews on here and as far as any negative ones go, I'm very sorry that those have felt they had a negative experience when dealing with the Lakes family. I have been to countless funerals of friends and family at this home and through difficult times, I have never heard a complaint about these kind people. I have known them for decades, went to school with them 35 years ago and not one time do I ever remember a mean, unkind, or bad thing coming from them. Always been great people. My father passed a couple of weeks ago and they were like dealing with close family during this trying time. “I hope to never have to bury anyone else in my life time. If I did or someone asked for a recommendation I’d recommend this place EVERYTIME. I had a very sensitive family matter. My sister was trying to bury my brother without allow me and my little sister to go. She’s 9 -10 years older then us. Always a jealousy thing. Regardless, once I spoke to this business they wouldn’t allow it due to moral and religious beliefs. What religion? Doesn’t matter. In the end they refused to work with her unless we all came together. Had it went another way and they chose money over morals they might as well had buried me too. I would have been hurt for a life time. In the end we came together and buried our brother. They were very sweet too. Eliana and the lawyer for this business are special kinda people. Their parents and God are proud. The funeral turned out beautiful. It was huge and they were able to keep the crowd down. Brave enough to deal with a huge crowd. Eliana and the woman from the Ontario location made our experience very memorable. I will never forget them and how they “held my hand” through the toughest thing I’ve ever had to do. “Chuck was straight forward, helpful, respectful and honest. He also stepped up and assisted us when our priest wasn't at the graveside when our procession arrived. It was a difficult situation and my husband was devastated. He felt he had failed his father, since it was his responsibility to facilitate with services. I don't know how to express our gratitude to Chuck, but he helped us resolve a very difficult situation, with poise and grace. I don't think we could ask for more.
