I knew this was nearby but we had never been before. My children enjoyed it so much when a petting zoo visited their preschool that I thought we might check out this local spot. It's a jewel. “Excellent loop trail. Single track the entire length. Shaded throughout. There are several small, easy stream crossings throughout. These make nice water breaks for your furry friends which are allowed on this trail when leashed. Very interesting trail. Lots of ravines to loop around as well as ups and downs throughout. There are also several man made wells that have protective fence around them, and a couple of small, man made ponds. Very enjoyable hike. Only a couple of small wet areas to navigate. I'm sure that varies by the weather, but overall it should have good drainage.”

“Cyndi and her staff were prompt, professional, and incredibly helpful in helping organize and executing an awesome experience! There were a few roadblocks on our end getting everything set up right up until the eleventh hour, but Enchanted Animal Parties were great in their communication and with getting us everything we needed to insure that our event was a success! Not to mention that the animals were so sweet and cute, everyone had a fantastic time :) I highly recommend considering their services for a petting zoo!”

“Definitely a small zoo and saw everything in one morning (coming from NC where our zoo is 500 acres- a different story ☺️) but we really enjoyed it! Staff was friendly and we got discounted admission through reciprocity with our NC zoo membership. It was quiet, no real crowds, plenty of animals to see. The lioness was roaring a lot which the kids loved (although she almost seemed disturbed by how vocal she was- not an animal behavior expert though!). We didn't take advantage of the splash pad but it appears very popular for a hot day! The playground outside the entrance was a nice bonus.”

“This place is awesome! Off the beaten path from Daytona Beach, but well worth the drive! And the pricing is phenomenal. 10$ admission for adults, $5 for children, 3 and under is free. You can opt to do a combo pack where you get to hold a baby alligator and feed the turtles and a pet pig! Pricing for adults is $17.00, $12.00 for kids, $8.00 for three and under. The man that owns it is hilarious and you can tell he loves what he does. When someone is happy with their job it shines out onto their customers, as we all know. Anytime we come back we will definitely be visiting!”

The trail was for the most part easy to follow and self explanatory. However, you could see how time has passed the facility by and some areas need slight improvements, just for scenic sake. The gift shop had typical items for sale. I personally purchased 2 wildlife postcards.”

The one on one excursions are extremely affordable and the animals are so close it's like you can reach out and touch them. “I absolutely love Lake Woodruff Wildlife refuge. I am able to go quite often. On Sunday's I have walked with Roger and other birders. I have seen millions of tree swallows come in to roost for the night. I have seen the snow geese wintering. I have gathered my thoughts in the quiet solitude that is that place. I do not want to see The Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission, make another disgusting mistake and open this Refuge up to more hunting and fishing. “Considering that the zoo is only eight acres, I was quite pleasantly surprised. The animals seemed well taken care of, and seemed to have lots of toys for enrichment. The zoo had lots of information regarding conservation, including facts on their status and what you as an individual can do to help. When you visit, please keep in mind that this zoo is very small so don’t be disappointed that they don’t have any elephants or giraffes. That being said, there are many interesting animals to see and learn about :)”
