“Very good bar with variety of beers. If you like sour beer you can find one for your taste very easily. They have burgers and other snacks to share. The staff is kind and fast. They have different board games to play. Reservation can be made and might be good for Friday or Saturday.”

“Had an amazing dinner here even though the restaurant is quite small. Definitely fitting for a place called Klein Afrika, it gives you a taste of Afrika from the atmosphere to the food. I really enjoyed the Ethiopian dishes and the prices are really reasonable as well. One last thing is the service was splendid and everyone was friendly, five stars!”

“Great food. Loved the pan fried bananas they served as side dishes. It was crispy on the sides, soft and mushy in the center. We ordered jerky chicken, ackee and salted fish for the main course and they were delicious! 😍 Thanks to the old man that runs the restaurant along with his wife we had a wonderful meal here :)”

“Quite possibly the best breakfast I've had in Amsterdam. I personally prefer the New York option, the buttermilk pancakes were out of this world. They were really soft and other items in the dish really complimented it very well. If you like a bit of sweet and savoury for your breakfast then I highly recommend this option. I did not enjoy the eggs Benedict California option it was almost the same price but the quantity didn't seem to match other dishes, maybe it's my bias after having the New York however the chicken and waffles were also very good, not too spicy and just enough to add to the flavour. The English breakfast on the other hand was also a good and safe option if you are not comfortable with the other options. There were enough seating options and quite unique in my opinion. It gave me good cozy coffee shop vibes. I would 100% come back for another plate of the new york breakfast.”

“The coffee here was the best I had yet in amsterdam. The iced maple coffee was super good and not too sweet. I got the Jacob combo and the potatoes were good, the flavors balanced well. My toast was incredibly crispy on the edges but soft on the Inside, making a delicious combo. The eggs are cooked to perfection. An incredible dish for sure!”

“One of the best morrocan food places I've been in the Netherlands. Really tasty and authentic. The tajin is just like my mother's one. Thanks for the experience. Definitely going back.”

“Nice hotel overall. It is a heritage building offering beautiful character and yes the hallways are tiny so if you have lots of luggage it's a bit of a workout. My room and bathroom were very modern and clean. I was located on an upper floor at the end of the hall so couldn't hear other guests. The room offered nice views of the cute neighbourhood and the bed was comfortable. Hotel is close to great coffee, several tram lines and Vondelpark but still offers peace and quiet. I thought it was good value even with the city tax.”

“Pretty good American bbq restaurant for Dutch standards. We took 2x times the share platter so we could try all the dishes. The ribs are the star of the night, tender, fall right of the bone with natural flavors. Pulled pork and cheeks were nice. Turkey and the brisket a bit less. For sides the smokey beans is a must try. Total cost between 30-40 euro per person including drinks and 3 desserts is quite good.”

“They had 4 home brew on tap but I only tasted 2, the imperial stout and the IPA. Definitely worthy! I’m a stout person but as I was at the bar and I saw many people order the IPA I had to try. Food was also delicious. I had a typical Bulgarian dish with veggies and feta cheese. You might thing oh it’s just veggies but it’s a meal, I got full. Not so full that I couldn’t eat the chocolate cake made with stout! Amazing! Owner and staff are very friendly, good atmosphere and very unique. I totally recommend if you would like to experience something out of the crazy crowded!”

“Dined here last night, and it was superb. The hostess was incredibly kind and charming, and exemplified hospitality. I found the interior decor to be interesting and pleasing to eye, but in no way overly busy or distracting. The seating was comfortable and spacious. For beverages we had the fresh lemonade, which was wonderfully refreshing and not too sweet, and traditional Ethiopian tea which was quite flavorful. For dinner we shared the lentil soup, and then vegan combination for two. Every single item was wonderfully flavorful and delicately spiced. And I have never had better injera in my entire life. Go and enjoy this local gem.”

“We came to Braai Westerpark for the birthday of my wife. We asked them for a festive dessert at the end as a surprise and they went out of their way to make it happen. On top of this great service, their food is just amazing. You can have a nice sharing platter for the whole group and all dishes are really good! We all especially liked the sausages. Will definitely come back here!”

“Couscous Bar is a solid 5-stars for quick, healthy, custom, and delicious couscous bowls—vegan and non-vegan choices 😀 Two types of couscous to choose from: regular and whole grain (I prefer the whole grain, but then I like brown rice more than white rice). Also plenty of toppings with a choice of traditional Moroccan stewed vegetables (which was yummy), a sweet potato stew that looked great, and the eggplant (which I could eat as a separate dish all by itself—yummy 😋), and then choice of tempting lamb, moist chicken (what I ordered), or garbanzo beans (vegan choice). Also, the service was top notch. I met the owner—super nice and intelligent lady. Kitchen is super clean (see photos), and there is a terrific looking lounge area in the back. I highly recommend getting an order. I took my order to go and sat along the canals. As a tourist from California, this was the best coucous mix I’ve had in well over a year—even better than my mum’s homemade coucous. I love their, “Made by Mamas” logo 😊”

“We had a dinner in this place. It’s very cozy, beautiful place with a perfect service, so is the food. Fresh bread and smoky butter it’s something incredible. The oysters been very juicy and big, perfect steak and lobster. Very good cheesecake, not over sweetened. And at the end it was very sweet gesture to have marshmallows which we cooked on fire, it gives a feeling of being near the fireplace, so nice Definitely recommend!”

“I like very much the environment (music, great food smell and nice vibes in general). The food is very tasty and is served in a colorful way, it really moved me into the Caribbean world. It’s slightly pricey but not unaffordable. Little detail… it’s a pity that if you call often they say it’s fully booked, but if you pass by you can find a spot! I wouldn’t mind a bit of proactive approach”

“Since I am in love with Israel food , it was the best choice that I can do in Amsterdam. Food is so delicious, atmosphere outside was perfect! I also loved the speedy service and smiling faces. I can strongly recommend! Here are the best choices : Hummus wit aubergine, babaganus, kebab and Israel salad 💙”

“Unique and tasteful experience, highly recommended! The restaurant sits central in Amsterdam and easy to reach. Immediately when you walk in you feel calm and welcome. This is because the music in the background plays decently and is being supported by the nice atmosphere created by the light and shadow effects. Our waiter Michu provided very enjoyable and friendly evening. The atmosphere was great. We would not have thought about asking for more. We ordered the Videotype and the 3-Wine menu to go with it. The food was nothing but amazing. The serving of the wine matched perfectly with the dishes. We liked the duck and the seafood soup the most but to just to point out: Evert meal was unique and tasty. We give the resturant 5/5 because the "creations" tasted very good, the atmosphere was awesome, the restaurant has a great look and the waiter was super friendly! The price to performance ratio is a 1:1. By that we want to say that the experience was worth its price. The restaurant is a must-see for those who like to experience the Asian kitchen on a different level.”

“The B.E.S.T. indian food in town. Honestly! I love indian food and have tried a lot of the indian places around, but this is by far the best I've had in Amsterdam. What is more, the prices are quite reasonable for the amazing quality you get. No joke - Try it yourself! Also the personal touch is amazing - we got free appetizers and free mango lassi for the order we made. Definitely, this will be a routine food! Thanks a lot team Indian Bbq.”

“Small cozy place with authentic ramen made with care! Ramen: I had Tonkotsu ramen. The soup was very good, (mix with garlic oil spot on)! The noodle was amazing, my fav part! Handmade, fresh, and not too soft, just the way most people love! The cha shu were so amazing. Full of umami and tiny burnt on the edge from the grill. Beans sprouts were very crunchy. All the ingredients were very fresh and nicely prepared. Have to say, one of the best ingredients I’ve had among the tons of ramen I’ve ever had in my life. Fried chicken (Kara-age): crunch outside and juicy inside! Takoyaki: nicely prepared, I’ll give it a 7 outta 10. Cocktails: I have a Paloma. Pretty mediocre, can use some extra kick or spice. Atmosphere: cozy, very small. Decoration very Japanese. Staff: very friendly :) Always came to check on us. Food is served very fast.”

“Absolute gem of a place! A little, unassuming, family owned, authentic Moroccan restaurant. Excellent food in a cozy setup, with very good service and very friendly people. Would surely return when in town, as all dishes we have tried (Tajin, Pastilla, fish salad with couscous, cookies) were delicious. Card payment only possible with Dutch cards or cash. Strongly recommend this place!”

“Having tried a lot of dim sum in multiple places in UK and around the world and from the perspective of a HK person, this restaurant is worth a visit as the dim sum is definitely of a good standard and some of they do some dishes which are quite hard to find in your average dim sum restaurant. Service was good for a Chinese restaurant. I quite like that the dim sum is available all day up until closing. Just remember to call up to check when the kitchen closes as they do stop taking in customers when the kitchen has closed. Some of the dishes are also overpriced. Overall, a decent choice for dim sum and I would come back again.”

“We ordered couscous and tagline and both were very delicious and tasty. The meat is very well cooked, variety of vegetables on the couscous as well. And the harira soup was also delicious”

“The location is super beautiful! The pancakes are also great, the mini pancakes were good but I would order the regular one over it. While it was tasty, I just think it's overpriced compared to what you get. The wait was a bit long, but service was okay as well- they added something to our bill that was the other tables and struggled to take it off for some reason. While I'm not upset with the service, I do not know I would recommend it over other pancakes just because of the price.”

“We are so happy with our stay! Totally worth it to pay a little less and live a short distance outside city center. Super convenient to take the bus right outside the hotel, 10min. Or walk about 20-30min which we did one day to explore all the beauty of Amsterdam! So stunning! Clean and tidy room. Big enough for two people. One negative thing is the paper thin doors, but still not too mad about it”

“This is a great sharing restaurant. Fabulous dishes served when ready to share. Could he up to 30 minutes for all the dishes to appear but well worth the wait. Throw in the very efficient and helpful staff - you can't ask for more. Highly recommended.”
