“We have all heard that the Romans had lovely mosaics and heated there houses in clever ways but it is something special to see the remains in the flesh. And it is nicely displayed and looked after by English Heritage. You won't need hours there but you can walk nearby in ancient woods and enjoy a bite in the cafe too.”

“Lovely place! Exhibition is nice, you can learn a lot. We kind of had a private tour with one elderly gentlemen, one of the volunteers, who toured us around the house and told us incredible details of Darwin’s life. The garden is worth seeing too. We went in autumn and there wasn’t much to do but I guess it would be worth going another time of the year.”

“Went for a visit today. Well laid out over a few floors. Good descriptions and very clean and lots of old artifacts. The basement schibit is for 16s and over. You soon get a good feel for crammed living in Victorian times.”

“We went here today. This place is a truly fabulous and delightful little gem! I can’t recommend it enough. Firstly it has been put together through love and having a keen interest in the RAF. It is quirky and there are some great anecdotes. What definitely makes it stand out is the amazing volunteers. Thanks to Norman, Ray and Dean for a great experience and the time you spent with us telling us all of the different stories. So interesting and informative. On top of that there’s a lovely little garden area and a tea house - the food is lovely and so is the lady running it. Time very well spent and will visit again / tell my friends to come by. Thank you! (For those not from Kent, Shoreham in is a lovely example of a Kent Village too).”
