“Although it is sooo hot and the shade spots are slim, I think this is a great place to have a fun afternoon with the kids. Or even your dog. Or maybe especially your dog because there is an extravagant dog park fully furnished for the everyday lazy bones dog or for your Olympic games winning champion dog lol they really went the extra mile there. So from the kids park, dog park, to the creek there is a bunch of potenial here. If only you know how to see it. 🪄🧙😉”

“This is a very nice, simple, clean park. It felt safe. The creek running next to the park is a very nice. I didn’t see a playground there but there is a nice trail that follows the creek for awhile.”

“This is a great park for a picnic, walking, jogging and disc golfing. Lots of shaded areas and a small creek (hardly any water due to limited rain right now). Visitors have access to restrooms which are clean with a few lockers (ladies' restroom). Nice playground for the kiddies that includes a water splash pad.”

“We loved being outside exploring. There's plenty of area for your dogs to run and explore. They have a large & small fenced in, off leash area. The only thing I'll say about that is be in tune to your dogs body language & watch out for other people not managing their dogs. It's got a lovely little creek to explore as well!”

“This place is a gem. Not too far from birmingham and not crowded at all. There are picnic tables and so many spots for enjoying the creek. You can get in the water as it's not deep...maybe2 to 3 feet max. There is no lifeguard so be careful with little ones always. But creek current is not that strong. Lots of sunshine. It's part of a park so several hiking trails also. O entry or parking fees. This is a must see.”

“Beautiful, yet haunting memorial to Alabama's veterans. The sounds and serenity of nature, with numerous benches and resting places along the path to the memorial itself. My favorite local place to walk, to remember, and to meditate.”

“The fields nice, but slick not really sure why. Parking was very difficult, looks like it was just paved but no parking lines, drove around for 20 minutes then had to just block people in. Also seems because of the paving no overflow, so now maybe fewer parking slots? Lots of effort to make it nicer, so maybe afterwards it will be better.”

“It is big paved parking lot for RVs. Level. No ants if you park away from the green spaces. Not many trees except in the green spaces. The spots near them are in more demand. We were parked in the middle. We only had 1 fuse trip during the 28 days, we stayed. Extending our awning in the morning helped with temp by shading windows. Beware that during hot sunny days, you might need to carry your dog to a green space. There is a playground with a splash pad at the end of the RV lot which my grandson enjoyed. Price for a month 775 plus 2 dollar park fee. 777.00”

“Great place to go for a walk have a picnic or let the kids play. A very nice clean park with a little something for everyone. They even have a cute little book nook, to find a book or leave one. I guess one of my favorite things is the love locks on the bridge. Take a lock and that special someone and add your lock to the bridge. Visit Leeds Park for lots of fun, love and adventure.”

“It's been a while since I last visited the Pepper Place, but it's amazing to see the gorgeous architectural pieces they get in for the home and garden! You can also make an appointment with one of the wonderful designers to help guide you with making your dream design a reality! Weekends, during the spring/summer months, are a great way to see what, "buying locally", is all about in the South! Farmers and other vendors come from all over Alabama and other states, to offer fresh fruits, vegetables, flowers and more!”

“Lovely gardens, even on a cloudy day. Had a peaceful walk around the 5 acre lake and enjoyed exploring the flora, fauna, and art twined throughout the grounds’ other trails. One trail is a storybook walk for kids that features an area for gnomes and their homes. Butterflies, ducks, fish, and honeybees were spotted. Well-placed seating throughout the grounds. The building in the center of the gardens, Aldridge House, showcases artwork (most of which is for sale) from various artists throughout the year and displays historical documents of the gardens’ beginnings. There is a gift shop as well. Very kind staff members. Overall, I highly recommend a visit to this free public garden - a Hoover gem.”

“I hadn't been to this park for a while until just recently. Generally love the park it's very nice to have a place near home to go walk out in the woods you would think safely. However there have been two dogs for almost probably two years that are either stray or belong to someone in the neighborhood who does not keep up with them and whenever you show up whether you have a dog or not they are approaching you and not necessarily in a friendly manner. God forbid you have dogs then they're very territorial and trying to start trouble. I don't have time to hang out and wait for the sheriff to show up if I have to call because of an issue. Typically I go out there packing my BB gun ready to have to run them off if necessary and I hate it because it's not the dogs fault. Thankfully this last visit was very peaceful and I saw no sign of those dogs but they're not the first and I'm sure they won't be the last.”

“It's a mainly flat wide walking trail around the ball fields. There isn't a large grade change so its relatively easy to walk and enjoy the time out there. It does run along side a the Black Creek so you can see ducks and such. Which is pleasant as well. There is a longer bike path that will take you all the way to Fieldstown Road near Celebration Park. If you are looking for a longer ride with more variations in grade that's a good path to take. Not super challenging, but will make you work for it. You can easily get a 20 mile ride in on this path if you want a good ride.”
